George Takei: Law Enforcement Throughout American History Has Manipulated Asian Americans | Katy Tur

  1. That sheriff should not be talking to the public (he’s not qualified). I see he has a lack of judgment, critical thinking, humanity…I can go on…

    1. @J Groovy Murders fueled by misogyny are under the umbrella of hate crimes. That’s already in the law and I expect that guy to be trialed as such.

    2. That Sheriff absolutely should be in the public eye. His views should be impetus for change, not some view that should be hidden. Especially as concerns policing.

    1. It’s called entitlement. In their minds, their skin colour makes them right. Why would they search further reasoning with that kind of mentality? Quit trying to humanize these shallow menaces

    2. @Weston W The statistics show more hate crimes committed against whites than any other race. Your emotions are being puppeted by exaggerations.

  2. Seems to be the new GQP platform they will run on. Good luck making friends with that logic lol.

    1. A young Black man was arrested in the death of an 84-year-old Asian an who was knocked to the ground while on his morning walk in the Anza Vista neighborhood pleaded not guilty Wednesday to murder and elder abuse charges. <-> Antoine Watson, a 19-year-old resident of Daly City, made his first court appearance at the Hall of Justice after being taken into custody Saturday in what police have described as an “unprovoked” attack on Vicha Ratanapakdee.

  3. Thank you George for speaking out, we need your wisdom and status to highlight this racial injustice.

  4. Addiction,no matter to what, doesn’t justify the action. Do you feel sorry for a crack-head who mugs you?

    1. I would feel sorry for them and want them to get help. But that does not mean what they did is not a crime.

  5. I remember a particularly egregious example of hyper sexualizing Asian woman in the film Full Metal Jacket

    1. Former Drag Queen Story Hour President Arrested For 27 Counts Of Child P*rnography..<-->> Drag Queen Story Hour is an extremely controversial event itself. Parents take their children to public libraries across the nation to listen to a man dressed in full “drag” (elaborate costume cross-dressing) read books and/or stories. These children range from infants on up to early elementary school age. The purpose of drag queen story hour is to promote “solidarity” with the LGBTQ+ community and for “woke” liberal parents to expose their children to people who are often “unheard”.

  6. I agree George – it’s absolutely ignorant and hypocritical (what the Cherokee County sheriff said – and what was done). But it is more than that – it is willful cruelty, born of white supremacy and racism. It is just plain wrong. And no amount of political word-twisting can alter those facts.

  7. “And for him [Atlanta Sheriff] to try to sell it as a sexual addiction case is ignorant and hypocritical.” – George Takei

    1. The Atlanta Sheriff was just repeating what the shooter told him. He wasn’t trying to “sell” anything.

  8. 100% George Takei. You are such a great American. Thank you for your views and for always being so involved!

    1. Mr. Takei did such great work performing as Sulu in the television series Star Trek. That show was well known for addressing racism from time to time in the 1960’s. There was an episode called “Let that be your last battlefield”. It was about the Enterprise discovering two warring sides somewhere out there in space. Why were they at war? One group was black on the left and white on the right side. The other? It was white on the left and black on the right. Not so subtle, eh? 😀

  9. George is right. We need more high profile people to speak up and voice our anger and heartbreak. May the victims Rest In Peace . We will not forget you. You’re on our minds ! 😢

  10. America been having this horrible issue of race relations for over 4 centuries and reporters asking questions as if it started yesterday.
