GOP Not Conducting Own Jan. 6 Investigation Despite Kevin McCarthy’s Vow

Back in July, Kevin McCarthy vowed that Republicans would run their “own investigation” into January 6th. Now, Asawin Suebsaeng reports, “We could find barely a shred of evidence—in fact probably less than that—that there actually is movement on it.”

    1. @Daniel Dos Santos examples please. The orange turd is the winner of most lies ever by a pathetic excuse for president.

    1. Sounds like those internal affairs investigations police do when they investigate themselves 😑.

  1. McCarthy obviously knows that the anonymous report clearing Trump was misinformation spread by Trump if the report had been real, the FBI Director himself would have announced it.

    1. @Fool for the City Wow…I can’t get a single like for standing against slandering someone’s name but you get likes for blatantly lying about what you think you see.
Biden goes through with a plan made by a supposed Con man and then changes the rules and when he fails it’s OK because he cleaned up trumps mess?
He called their president and told them that he knows it looks bad but they need to say it looks OK but that sure means that no one knew it would fall so fast except also US government agencies.
Which Biden lied about and said no government agency said that.
And now you’re calling trump actual crap. While praising Biden for doing nothing right.

Delusional, all of you. I’ve seen what makes you cheer so your booing doesn’t bother me.

    2. @vita pedrus Start with why did Trump surrender to a terrorist organization and release 5000 of them to take over Afghanistan? That’s where the hearings should start. TRUMP SURRENDERED TO TERRORISTS. He was the weakest president in US history.

    3. @vita pedrus Great because that will include 3 former presidents including Trump and the peace deal he signed with the Taliban.

    1. So why did the Democrats turn off the inquiries into the bombing and burning of the Portland Federal courthouse for 3 months that left 2 Marshals blind and hospitalized hundreds with burns and shrapnel wounds? Cannot wait to hear that from you.

    2. @Brian Schwartz Mike, pillow, or Crack head matrix guy, all the same. Or shorten all of it and just call him, and all his adherents simply “idiots”. All the same, just as accurate. if you loved his comedy routine, there’s always the Sydney Powell hour. .

    3. @SPZ Aruba Why did Trump and his Rethuglicans deliberately Downplay the Pandemic and Incite a Coup attempt to overthrow the government.

  2. Two faced. Did he give a speech telling people that Trump was responsible for the 6th. I sure I seen it.

    1. Absolutely right. They have broken so many laws these people, it’s like a flood of criminality. But that’s no excuse not to act to hold them accountable, responsible and punitive measures must be taken to nip this in the bud. They have no integrity and that’s probably the first thing you should possess if you’ve been elected as a member of the United States Congress.
These people lost the grip on truth, integrity and self-respect about 5 years ago, at least

    2. @SPZ Aruba oh, now, doesn’t that sound pithy and super cool repub. It isn’t true, as you well know, nowhere near it, but it’s a convenient, facile meme just because somebody’s over 75. (Noam Chomsky is in his 90s and he is as articulate as he was 70 years ago, so knee-jerk ageism doesn’t work either). Trump has the vocabulary of a slow fifth grader and doesn’t know words that have more than four syllables unless somebody’s drilled it into his head right before some speech or interview. Your paragon of virtue actually erroneously claims ~with a straight face~ to have graduated first in his class at the University of Pennsylvania when he barely made it into the 50th percentile. How many different people do you think he paid to write papers for him and take tests?

And every single time I read that quote from him, all I can think of is the young man or woman at the time who actually WAS the person who graduated first in that class and I always give them a little nod for knowing who they are, what their achievements are and giving zero f’s that some grifter tries to claim what he didn’t earn~but they did.

    3. If it were up to me, the moment someone is sworn into office should also count as being sworn in under oath, day and night, from that moment until the end of their term. Every word spoken or written while in office, under penalty of purgery. That would fix that problem. It kinda seems like that should’ve been the intended purpose behind the Oath of Office, to begin with.

  3. “Leader of the free world” has no association with the United States. When did Trump real estate become the free world?

  4. If a company says something that isn’t true, they can be fined or even spend some time in jail. If a politician says something that isn’t true… his buddies give him a high five and the “can you top this” game begins.

    1. It’s his standard method of business. Either he sues someone else, or someone else sues him, and then he settles out of court, with a non-disclosure clause in every settlement, so he doesn’t wind up in the news as settling a lawsuit. This is why he appears so squeeky clean to most of the country. Only the folks who lived around NYC know from all the times he appeared in the news before those settlements were made, what a weasel he really is. Now he’s in financial trouble, because no one else will loan him money. His plane is grounded, no one is going to his hotels, etc.. So he’s sucking every cent he can, out of his poor ignorant followers. I wonder how long before they realize that he’s keeping all the donations for himself.

    2. @D.E.B. B You are absolutely spot on. Suing or threatening is his business model. I was in construction and from NY, and his unethical practices are legend here.

  5. There is nothing the Republican party fears more than the American people knowing the truth. Because they know that the truth shall make you free.

    1. @SPZ Aruba I don’t care about petty stough. My neighbor burns crap on no burn days too but their not running our country.

    2. @SPZ Aruba Maybe you shouldn’t be ignorant to Trump’s embezzling just about any money he puts his hands on and that he doesn’t care about anyone unless you are putting money in his pockets

    3. @harktz Trump was the lyingest President in my lifetime ( im 57 ) , can you think of anyone else that even came close to spreading as much misinformation and lies than Trump? Seriously?

    1. For some Republicans water is not even wet…in fact…water doesn’t exist…it’s just a big conspiracy to have you under control. Water is political theater they say!

  6. They need to get charged with interfering with a Congressional Investigation, the last time I checked, that’s illegal.
