  1. This is absolutely ridiculous. Knowing that slavery was a part of American history and the basis of much of Southern attitudes; this needs to be taught and understood by all, so that America can get over the hurdles that are making it weak in the world today.

    1. @almost there there is no way educators would teach the real TRUTH it would be like a confession, let’s all be aware and move on but don’t cleanse the truth

  2. If you have a son in high school who is having girl problems, just tell him that it is ok. Matt Gaetz didn’t have his first high school girlfriend until he was 35.

    1. Relax children! My god you all sound like teenagers trying to one up each other with useless arguments..if you keep it up Matt Gaetz is gonna come sneak into your bedrooms at night with 300$ 😝

  3. Daily Reminder: On January 6, 2021, Impeached former President Trump attacked America during a joint session of Congress.

    1. @Terrance Jones We aren’t out of the woods yet. Timing would have changed everything. If “the hill” was just a funny name for dc instead of actually being a hill, we might have been in a Trump dictatorship right now.

    2. The insurrection is still happening, using the BIg Lie as a pretext to introduce 400 voter suppression bills in 46 states. As Liz said, its an ongoing threat

    3. Correction: On January 6, 2021, a defeated impeached disgraced outgoing lame duck President Trump attacked America during a joint session of Congress.

    4. @R White Addendum: On January 6, 2021, a defeated impeached disgraced outgoing lame duck President Trump attempted a coup against a joint session of Congress, aided aided by some GOP members, and that aid is apparently growing over time.

    5. Twice impeached before the corpse even started to cool. And here he is. Amongst US still. Fomenting Lies. Still free only because he’s rich and throws around money with such emotion. And his minion thugs are everywhere.

  4. The people who delighted in telling Democrats to “get over” Hillary losing in 2016.
Are the same people who are re-counting Arizona’s ballots in 2021.

    1. @djondjon Every state has pretty much certified invalid ballots to save face. There was wide spread corruption in the election process and the facts have been brought in front of judges of whom 67% have agreed. SO lets just hope the states do their just diligence and validate each balllot to a valid voter. Witnesses during the ballot counting have seen 1000s of Blank ballots with no names on them and the only box checked was the Joe Biden box. If you consider those valid ballots then yes Biden won the election.

    2. @HelioPyres CNN is actually the place I did find it after a more nuanced search. I still don’t think you read it given that you think this is reflective of the whole election. Just because Trump and Lewendowski are trying to claim it. A county of 14,000 people, 99 votes were mistabulated for the Dems who all 4 lost anyway to the Republicans in that one race. Yep, means the presidential election was miffed too. Maybe even a few highschool proms.

    3. Became the deplorable they were accused of. Defined gop forever. Party of Lincoln, gone zombie feral. Selfish Leadership. Never works for long. It takes real care and inspiration to lead a people’s into a better world.

    4. @Milton Bradley Not all 14000 people are elgeble voters and not all eligible voters voted.. The fact remains that the tabulators were very innacurate.

  5. Nah. Let’s keep teaching the youth the truth so they have a chance to change things

  6. American history will now include educating children about Mr Potato Head. Because it was Mr Potato head whose labour and industry brought untold wealth to America.

    1. @Sylvia Rucker my sincerest apologies, Sylvia. I believe there may be confusion and a break in communication. Later and peace.

    2. To deny history is to dissolve human learning and make it weaker at its core. Like burning Alexandria. To deny cruelty is to become its victims again.

  7. “The winners write history.” ~Bill Barr
This explains the insanity on the right.
They [FEAR] the truth will prevail.

    1. Well in the case of the South, they went ahead and rewrote history anyways and taught that nonsense in schools as late as the 1970’s. How many kids over that time have been taught an alternate history of the Civil War and Slavery over all.

    2. @0heck It’s obvious the confederate states have always thought they won. The slave owners, who still had slaves after the war, lied to them and made them believe they were still slaves. This continued for years and years. Today, the white supremacists and/or nationalists can’t own slaves, but they can still treat the black men and women as if they’re not even human.
The North could very well have lost the civil war, but only if it had lost the will to win – and, despite occasional wavering, it never did, and never will.

    3. He plagerized that quote from a comic book. He couldn’t remember exactly which comic book it was. Either Superman or Bizarro World. One of those two.

  8. I feel absolutely sick with out front racism. I’m 53 and I don’t know how stop it. GenX and Millennial generations are not okay with it, and I have never seen it this bad. This is insanity.

    1. @Bryan you have just made it perfectly clear why it is so urgent that this nation stops trying to whitewash over the horrors that were the normal daily practices of white society in the way they dealt with people of color. The sole reason for 90% of the race relations in America today is that, in many parts of the US, schools teach the idea that the kidnapping & enslavement of Africans was somehow sanctioned by God & that those poor, misunderstood slave owners, were doing the Lord’s work, yada, yada, yada.
Sorry, but systemic racism is alive & well in the US & will continue until such time that address the wrongs that white people in America have inflicted upon our black brothers & sisters, as well as our brothers & sisters of every other racial descent.
It isn’t about teaching white kids to hate themselves nor this nation. It’s about being honest about the past so that we can fix the problems that past has left us with & learn how to live & work together to build a better future for ALL AMERICANS. Not just the ones who’s distant ancestors migrated eons ago from Africa to the regions far to the north.
Teaching people the inconvienent truth about the mistakes we have, as a nation, in the past is NEVER racist, even when the specific subject being taught involves race!

    2. @Deanne Albrecht so confederate statues can’t be torn down but it’s ok to make white kids feel better by denying the American history of blacks in this country. Just tell the truth why I that so hard. This country was and IS built on racism and slavery. That’s the truth.

    3. @Deanne Albrecht got it, so you used to work in a school system that you describe as being racist. And you had no problem collecting a paycheck all those years despite the profound racism. But now that you’re retired, you want to virtue signal in YouTube comments and advocate for change.

  9. They done a great job of hiding our black history up till now. I’m 64 and hadn’t heard of the Tulsa massacre until last year. Heck I hadn’t heard about the “trail of tears” until about 10 years ago and I’ve been living in the Midwest since 1995. It’s like the leaders in this country don’t want anyone knowing exactly how disgusting some of us have acted in getting here

    1. Horrible what they did to those people. They couldn’t stand the thought of them creating and.sucseeding.

    2. John Ford directed a film called “Cheyenne Autumn” which was about the trail of tears: 1964 was the year, I believe.

    3. @Mickey P Indeed we are not responsible for what happened i the past, but we ALL need to know about it, just be sure we don’t do the same again, how is it possible that the first country in the world still tries to hide it’s past to it’s own people when the remaining of the world is just perfectly aware of it?

    4. I’m 60 tomorrow and I also just learned about these events in the last 8 years or so and it’s been a real eyeopener. After seeing a documentary on Black Wall Street I started researching all I can and have learned how common, widespread, numerous and horrific these events have been and the reality and history that black people live with everyday, something white people have erased from history. I remember seeing race riots and the civil rights movement in the mid 60s on tv when I was very little. I was beside myself seeing people being sprayed with fire hoses, beaten and being attacked by police dogs. It was beyond my comprehension. I was very little and didn’t realize it was current events at the time. My little 6 or 7 year old mind couldn’t grasp it as something that happened in my world. I was raised, thank God, in a very liberal community and I’m so sickened learning how deep and prevalent racism still is, especially in these times where it’s been freed to rear its ugly head out in the open. But I think it’s a good thing that it is fully exposed because confronting it head on is the best way to deal with it. I’m totally on board with the 1619 Project, Black Lives Matter, etc. White people need to get involved. Those of us that are knowledgeable on the reality, truth and extent of racism in our history need to help educate and open the eyes and minds of other white people that are still living in denial and fear. Black people need to continue educating us and sharing these stories with us so the true history of our country comes together. We need to work together to make this happen and to learn more about and understand eachother on more familiar terms. The African American community can help us with this. It’s now or never and it’s important for the survival of all of us. Together.

  10. You’ve got to be kidding me. Every time I think the GOP has sunk to a new level they manage to sink even deeper.

    1. No more Guilt! Our children shouldn’t ever have to know of it! Except for abortion… Yeah. They really are that stupid…Never Ever GOP Again.

    2. Greg: They’re monsters! Why does it seem so many are from down South? As a white child, not only were we not taught black history, we were only taught skewed white history! This country should NOT be deprived of any of it’s history. I’m not only sickened by the GOP, but also by those that stand idly by and do nothing to oppose them. I’m not feeling all warm and fuzzy about this country.

    3. This is a blatant lie. Nobody is trying to ban teaching about the history of slavery. They are trying to ban the teaching of lies about the history of slavery.

    1. Amen to that. We dont ever want to forget this period. Please never repeat anything or anyone like a republican party as it stands now. Totally worthless.

    2. What are the lessons of trump/gop, circa early 21st century? Think we’d all call out greed, stupid ambition and mass confusion. We have no collective direction. Something bigger than greed, smart as science and Life!

  11. They’re flat out deranged. So embarrassed and humiliated, they’ve literally lost their minds.

    1. @Bryan the fact that you would write this tells me that you don’t know what CRT is about at all. All you are doing is trumpeting GOP and Faux News misdirection and outright lies.

    2. @Bernard Gilbert he’s trolling at this point. All I am hearing is a bunch of GOP and Faux News noise.

    3. @Nathaniel Williams in academia “theory” doesn’t mean “guess” as it does colloquially. A theory is usually proofs or ideas that explain something. For example, in science, for an observed phenomenon the theory of it is the best explanation for it.

The theory of gravity is our current best explanation of the fact of gravity.

In math, theories are the theorems (proofs) and principles that make up a branch of mathematics.

Similar to science, theory in history refers to an attempt to explain WHY things happened the way they did. Critical Race Theory then is an attempt to explain WHY things played out the way they did. It’s based on the available evidence and a great deal of study; it’s definitely not just a guess.

Just a bit of theory geeking because people often misunderstand how academia uses the word vs how people in daily life use it.

      Hope it’s useful to someone.

  12. It’s like they know they are drastically losing their grip at a steady rate that they are just trying to pull all their cards like they have nothing left to lose.

    1. They read Orwell 1984 and decided if that was going to happen they wanted to be Big Brother… or Napoleon, like in the other fun story! hahaha! I mean it.

  13. “Daddy, what was Slavery, the 13th Amendment abolished it but they won’t tell us what it was in school?”

    1. @Greg Bors 13 is an unlucky number son and superstition is the way to go! That is why we don’t have thirteenth floors in the skyscrapers. It’s not safe. Somebody might fly a plane into your apartment there. It’s got nothing to do with race!

    2. Tattersall. Well son. Slavery was like Father knows best. Your mother and I have some videos we’d like you to watch. All about a cool kid named Beaver. He’ll help you know how things work in America. And some John Wayne and green berets… You’re campused until you do. haha

    3. @Jim Napier -Son. We might stop at a gun store on the way and discuss the 2nd. But our priority is to explore slavery. Take the slavery I’ve got over you. Its a temporary arrangement and it will lift, soon as you’re able. Don’t forget that part. Gat able if you want to be free. I’ll help you. As opposed to the historical economic slave master arrangement. That went on forever across generations. Once a slave always a slave. By petty small town laws. And the Lies of 150 years Jim Crow. But you won’t learn that in school either. There was a great man MLK. Who dreamed of a day when little children that played together could grow up to work and play together with allways. Let me know if they quit teaching Martin. Robert and John.

    4. Whites are fearful of black retaliation for slavery, they need not worry because FATHER YAH is the judge. He said in scripture that VENGEANCE belongs to him.

  14. Whenever McConnell appears … the Russian national anthem should mysteriously begin playing.

    1. I can see why McConnell doesn’t want it taught. His family got their money from their slaves but yes, he is happy to have got money from anyone. I do wonder though how much crap he will swallow from trump after trump went after him again today.

  15. “One thing about the men that’s controlling the pen / That write history, they always seem to white-out they sins” – J Cole

  16. Step one: Control the Media. Step two: Control education. History tells where the Control is headed and how it ends.

    1. Somehow, and I certainly don’t know how, we must recognize the difference between facts, and crap, and color the crap in such a way that even those who wish it were fact must acknowledge the difference. Freedom Of Speech is too important to become a tool for liars. Somehow, thoughts, ideas and opinions must presented as such on public forums, separate from facts. I have no idea how to do that, when people with platforms have no integrity.
