So here’s my problem. We’ve known all along what was going to happen and yet we did not provide Ukraine with defence capabilities prior to the invasion. Instead of pre-empting what was going to happen we just react to each move that President Putin makes at a snails pace. Strategically we make President Putin look like a military genius. All this could’ve been nipped in the bud before it even started….

@Master Q 2.0 this is not true, most of the corruption was imported and directed from Russia, remember Yanukovych who stole millions from the Ukrainian people? he was Putin’s puppet President and when he was found out he fled to Russia , before the Ukrainians could put him on trial, the Ukrainians have worked hard to get rid of the corruption and developed proper democracy, but Putin did not like it and invaded Ukraine

That is true. IF Biden would have sent thousands of soldiers to Poland and Eastern Europe, Putin would NOT have attacked Ukraine in February. What we would have had was an escalation along the north eastern european border and THEN a de-escalation, step by step. Instead we begged Putin to not attack Ukraine without sending Troops to Europe and Putin felt emboldened by attacking Ukraine. Game Theoretically, we made a giant mistake. The sending of US troops in november and december 2021 would have been costly, but NOTHING compared to the the money the US and Europe is spending NOW for Ukraine and against Putin. It shows that the reaction to aggression is oftentimes not being peaceful but by ESCALATING so the other, the opponent, can DE-ESCALATE. But when you do not escalate to an opponent´s escalation, the problem is that he will feel emboldened to attack.

@Frank Balibundi I agree with almost everything you’re saying. But be careful about claiming that Hitler just wanted to stay safe during times of war. He was a WW1 soldier who was referred to as brave by his fellow military countrymen. I’m not claiming, or even remotely insinuating that Hitler was a decent human being. I’m only claiming that he wasn’t a coward who hid in safety during wars.

My grandmother was treated (~1930) for severe asthma at a shady clinic with crude new versions of today’s hard drugs. She was a completely different person after her family eventually removed her from that hellish place. Paranoid, unreasonable, and a danger to herself & others. At other times she seemed charming & capable. I suspect that there was a similar change in the Nazi party’s Head Boy.
@Jenny Johnson yes, drugs played a role in Hitler’s paranoia during WW2. Absolutely! But there is no indication that he was on drugs when he actually fought as a German soldier during WW1. And as for WW2, he didn’t actually hide away in a bunker until the finally months of WW2, which is likely what most leaders would have done given similiar circumstances. We also know that several assasination attempts were made on his life during WW2 and he still refused to hide out in relative safety where attempts would be less likely. So was Hitler a cowardly type? No. There is no reason to believe it. He was most definitely delusional, morally dispicable and evil, but not a coward.
