A trio of Democratic congressmen are planning to introduce articles of impeachment on Monday for President Trump for inciting the riot on the Capitol. It will be up to House leadership when to bring the motion up for a vote, if at all. Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., Rep. Ted Lieu, D-Calif., and Rep. David Cicilline, D-R.I.are leading the effort. Every Republican who contributed to this insanity should be turned out and preferably imprisoned. If they won’t uphold their oaths of office, then they don’t deserve to represent their constituents. This is different from a simple policy disagreement. The President incited a mob against Congress, and these Congressmen and Congresswomen helped enable it. That’s a pretty clear violation of their oath. I don’t like imprisoning politicians, because I think it leads down a dark path we don’t want to set foot on, but Congress and the Courts have to send a very strong message that this behavior will not be tolerated.

Impeachment is needed, but without more severe measures added, it might only protect the first few years of that future.

Impeachment is necessary, not optional. Don’t get mugged by Republican’s veiled threats of violence from their base. Impeachment will bring certainty, and will stop Trump’s lucrative grifting because he will be unable to fool his base into thinking he will run for president again.
