  1. Democrats need to be smart, you don’t want to be label as the “Defund the police” party. People will not support that stupid slogan! You’re dealing with a true moron in Trump just don’t play his game. Hope the media learns and stop giving that bozo attention that he desperately craves.

    1. But it’s true. They need to defund and change. That doesn’t mean totally erasing police, but changing how they do things, for example getting mental health care professionals to respond to critical situations. In order to get that accomplished, we need to defund.

    2. @New Blue 2 Socialist is one arrow that they shoot us with, don’t give them a second or third, thanks. Also, defund the police is a stupid idea and an even worse slogan that cost us votes, cost us the Senate probably, and that means we don’t get to do anything, so I hope you’re happy, four more years of nothing. Unless we win both seats in Georgia.

    3. The Republicans who won seats from Democrats all took stereotypes of progressives like “Radical liberal” and “defund the police” and applied them to all Democrats and that strategy worked like a charm.

    4. @Tidbit FYI, the only reason why Biden won Georgia was because of activist that support defund the police and invest that money into community resources.
Also, Moderate Republicans didn’t vote for Joe Biden, they likely stayed at home or just vote for Trump because he’s a Republican.

  2. They’re right. It amazes me that Trumpists scream that Biden is a “socialist”. You can still find moderate Republicans – they’re called establishment Democrats.

    1. @Lloyd B You’re right, of course, however butthurt Cult 45 fascists are already splintering from the GOP to create the Pity Party.

  3. There’s nothing wrong with the policy behind the “Defund the Police” tagline. It was the tagline itself. Yeah, republicans will be against anything a progressive says but there were many people who were against it unless they looked into it further. As we know in the age of reacting to headlines without reading, people in general are too lazy to learn more about it. Defund the police sounds like abolish the police and nobody wants that. Going up against the people who easily turned kneeling for the national anthem into being against the military, defund the police made it way too easy to change the narrative.

  4. As a progressive I’m not really behind that “Defund The Police” term I get what it means but y not use a better term

    1. It’s all semantics. No matter what slogan used, it will never be respected. I feel “defund the police” says it all.

    2. @Denario James I know what it means, but someone who doesn’t look into things, and goes on first impressions may be reticent.

    3. The fact is that one of the reasons Democrats lost some seats to Republicans is because they used this phrase against all Democrats, even when the specific candidate they ran against did not support it and a lot of gullible people believed it.

    1. @Martyn Peel, it means to use some of the funds from the police to provide professions in the fields it’s needed, like mental health workers for calls instead of police going and killing people. and also similar, when you have over 25% of city budgets going to police departments then someone needs to stand up. the USA has the highest rate of incarceration and almost the combined number of police shootings in the rest of the world each year

    2. “Defund” means to remove funds. Whatever programs you might want to fund using the money you take from the Police, you can’t escape the fact you’re taking money from the Police. And everybody knows a defunded Police force is a less effective Police force.

    3. @origamidad1 The problem is a majority of the country knows the “defund the Police” idea was just a way of threatening revenge. And as with most revenge it was badly thought out. Taling money from the police to spend on mythical “Health workers.” Why not fund these “Mental health workers” seperately? And if it works, and the Police’s work is reduced, then I don’t think anyone would have a problem with the Police’s budget being reduced and spent on these and other programs you now have proof for.

    4. @Cortez The Killer you have no clue what it means. I think you need to read about it and learn how budgets work. You are talking out of ignorance.

  5. Where is THE REST OF THE SEGMENT…U, MSNBC, DONT WANT THE TRUE OPINION OF PROGRESSIVES TO PLAY OUT FOR THE CO7NTRY…PLAY IT & LET THE PEOPLE THINK ABT ALL SIDES OF THE ARGUMENT….

  6. People are naturally afraid of the unknown. And change represents the ultimate unknown.
It takes courage to face the unknown.
If life in America is ever going to improve, we need to face our fears, and deal with things that make us uncomfortable.
We need to admit America has problems, and solve them.

  7. I freaking cringed the very FIRST time I heard the “Defund the Police” slogan or w/e the blank it is.
Most moronic “slogan” I ever heard, and so blatantly obvious that the movement would be attacked and crushed.

  8. Democrats per our Constitution, has the right to remove every GOP who performed sedition by signing and supporting to try an over throw the election and Democracy. They must remove these people NOW or this will continue for the next 4yrs

  9. Thats what a lot of down ballot Republicans ran on (the fear of defunding the police) and they won, so I disagree.

  10. The “evidence” is how much the right wing talking heads used “defund the police” to attack Dems. The “evidence” for me was how I immediately reacted to it. I knew it would hurt the Dems. I even suspected it originated with some right winger to sabotage the Dems. It’s like asking for evidence that running as a Satanist will hurt one politically. Bad messaging is evidence enough!

  11. Moderate Democrats are closer to true conservatives than the GOP at this point. Republicans are increasingly turning into a bunch of far-right quacks.

  12. Biden isn’t even in office and the excuses as to why things can’t happen are already happening! Americans hold your government accountable!
