One conviction won’t change a system we need to see multiple convictions. We need to send a message to law enforcement that just because you have a badge does not give you a license to get a way with murdering civilians
How about instead of multiple convictions, how about no more killings of unarmed people? Or no more traffic stops that end in murder? Maybe the Chauvin type cops will think twice, or better yet, quit.

This may set a legal precedent for police accountability. Let’s hope so because right now, the police are among the most dangerous group on the streets that benefit from the best legal protections
This is one data point. We need to see a few more cases like this before we can call it a change. But, it’s a start

If True JUSTICE is to become the norm then verdicts like today must be more consistent to show those in law enforcement that choose to do INJUSTICES against the Black community and all communities across America to think twice and maybe three times before they commit these unacceptable crimes.

I can still see in my mind the defiant look on chauvin’s face as he slowly killed George Floyd . It said I can get away with anything when I have this uniform on. Will he was wrong. THANK GOD
I felt like he looked SO old when hearing the verdict – compared to how full of life and youth he looked as he killed a man in plain sight.
To think…all he had to do was remove his knee from Floyds neck. He would have been completely in the clear.
Hope this helps the Floyd family start to heal and the community feels some relief.

In my country we only have either a conviction or an acquittal for a trial.
We don’t even have a word for “mistrial” in Dutch. It just does not exist.
This jury system might have worked this time, and I’m glad for that, but it is outdated.
Watching the trial, what really got to me was the idea of George Floyd trying to lift his chest to make room to breathe with his face, shoulder & knuckles, but Chauvin used the knuckle pressure submission technique that my cop ex husband used to use on me to prevent Floyd making room for breathing. That’s when I knew what kind of cop Chauvin was & that he knew he was killing Floyd.
I am sorry that you experienced that- if that is how he treated you – a loved one.
I can only imagine how he dealt with the public – male or female.
I doubt that he would have any empathy for women in DV crisis as well.
