‘It’s About Freedom From Fear’: Deportations Loom Despite Biden Executive Order | MSNBC

"Even after President Joe Biden signed an executive order putting forth a 100-day deportation freeze, Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-NY) has been fiercely calling out ICE for moving forward to deport DACA-eligible Javier Castillo Maradiaga as soon as Monday morning. Rebecca Press, who represents Maradiaga and is the Legal Director for UnLocal, says there’s been back and forth over whether or not he would be departed since Thursday, saying, “When the miscommunication has frankly life or death consequences or devastating impacts on families, that communication cannot be allowed to occur.” Rep. Torres, who is calling for a top to bottom review of ICE, and Rebecca Press, join MSNBC’s host of “American Voices” Alicia Menendez to discuss the continued plight of those who are undocumented in the U.S." Aired on 01/25/2021.

  1. Trump in drive-thru:
    “You want fries with that?”
“that’s a tough question. You didn’t ask Biden if he wanted fries. You’re a fake cashier. I’m Done here”

    1. @Ash Roskell AndtiAmerican Ash, an ironic name for this topic. Democrats started the forest firs in collusion with China. it helped eliminate millions of dollars that would have to be paid to retirees.

    1. @John Lennon Actually, winning an argument against a liberal will make you a bigot and a racist!!!!! I get called that all the time by anti-American liberals.

    2. @prettypinned Even though the parents have legal status, you want them deported. Riiiiigghht. No bias there. Then can I have all racists deported?

    3. @GreenEyedLady my parents used to have residency visas in another country. While I applied and waited for my student visa, I had to abide by the tourist visa I had. I respected the tourist visa and would take a bus in and out of the country during the weekend to reset the visa. There may be better ways to hold these families accountable but the families should respect the due process of lawful immigration and visas.

    4. @prettypinned I would consider myself a liberal too. But I don’t have to agree with every policy. Just like how republicans shouldn’t blindly agree to whatever lies Trump spreads.

  2. For the 1st time in 4 yrs I’m beginning to feel free once again after being under the jack boot of Donald tRump! Free at last! Free at last and it’s exhilarating!

    1. The law is the law. What good does to be legal here if you are going to be a slave to biden with all his bad policies. There will be a market crash no jobs government will take away your freedoms and rights. They will have all power over you. So again why do people want to live here in the USA for that kind of life. Trump never said you couldn’t come to the USA. He if you want to come to the USA come legally and apply for amnesty like the rest according to the law. To have a country you must have laws.

    2. Certain people will feel free, lol. Youtube is censoring me for explaining your icon. I’m not surprised. Democrats defend that type of people because many of them are guilty of that.

    1. He arrested for a “pedestrian violation” (some form of jaywalking) that I guess must have escalated to the point of arrest. All charges were dropped and he was handed over to ICE.

  3. Every member of ICE should have a full FBI check to make sure they are not a member of any extremist organisation.

    1. @Jason Jones They are part of Homeland Security which conducts their own background checks, but not to the same extent as the FBI and this allows shortcuts to be taken.

    1. @Landon’s Channel as a Texan, let me suggest: Texas should be their own country again. Good riddance to BAD trash. We are so much more than Ted Cruz. Go Beto!

    2. @daisyzia Ok, Ted Cruz is a big part of Texas!!!!!! But I agree, Tecas should be its own country!!!!! Specially now with voter fraud biden.

  4. Just the idea that ICE wanted to deport him when he was nine, without his parents, makes me say dissolve ICE.

    1. @David Hale Yes, we do. And it doesn’t matter, because it’s not about “whose team did X”, it’s about _right and wrong._

    2. @Werrf1 Right and wrong!!!!! Ok, so a crime is right????? The whole family should be deported. That is right!!!!!!!! Illegals being in the United States illegally???? That is wrong!!!!!!

    3. @prettypinned Incorrect. His family have gained legal status. He was seven when he entered. At tgat age, by US law, you cannot commit a crime.

In other words, you think it’s ‘right’ to destroy a man’s life because of a crime committed by _his parents_ decades ago which they have already resolved.

    4. @Werrf1 WRONG, WRONG, and you need to get your facts straights. He’s not 7 anymore and kids do commit crimes!!!. He should not have had that altercation with the police!!!!!! If you’re illegal, don’t attract attention!!!

  5. Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t even understand why anyone would want to deport a guy who’s been in thr country since he was 7. He’s gone to school and has lived his teenage years in the country… He’s american for all practical purposes.

    1. They did the same thing to Rapper call 21 Savage he lived here since he was 10 years old but he’s from the UK but they deported him back he doesn’t even have a accent but he was famous so it was easier for him

  6. US reputation as a beacon of human rights, hope and democracy will seem overrated. These inhumane deportations must be stopped.African countries seem to have better and more decent immigration rules than USA under such circumstances.

  7. Of course their should be a thorough investigation into each person requesting Citizenship or Residency, before they are given the status.

  8. I’d be interested in the details of Javier’s “interaction with the NYPD”? Did he commit a misdemeanor or a felony offense?

    1. @Wooly Wonders Ok, Marxist youtube is censoring me!!!! I forgot that this is no longer American with the voter fraud election result. so you are a racist, Wooly. do you refer to obama as black Obama?

    2. Yea it’s a group of people who have been suffering in this country for 400 years and still haven’t been made whole yet.

    3. @prettypinned did you have the same energy when Republicans were disenfranchising black people’s votes? Since you feel like the election was a fraud are the republican house members win valid?

    4. prettypinned 🤣🤣🤣 boo hoo got a problem with trump being orange? Since YOU were the one who brought up race= YOU’RE THE ONE WHOSE RACIST BOOYAHHHH

    5. Joshua Lawson when grump was elected president- I could tell the landscape changed- racist out here were becoming more bold. Terrifying.

    1. There’s never been a moratorium on passwords. I believe you can find the applications at your post office to begin the process.

  9. Green card isn’t as easy as everyone thinks it is with our government. I have a friend that came to US legally and it took him for ever to get his . He went back home to see his mom after 14 years and it cost him several thousands just to make sure he cld get back into the US . He’s paid taxes ect just like every one else and purchased a home thru the bank that he’s paying for . He draws no assistance of any kind.

    1. White Americans created America for the most part. There really wasn’t a whole lot here before we came. And it is unlikely that folks would be leaving what is now Central America to come here. In fact, it was the opposite (pre)historically…the ‘Native Americans’ moved from North to South.
