Before departing Brussels, Biden held a bilateral meeting with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen after which the United States and European Union announced a new task force aiming to reduce Europe’s dependence on Russian energy.

Biden said the task force will focus on two initiatives: helping Europe reduce its dependency on Russian gas as quickly as possible and reducing Europe's demand for gas overall.

    2. If you look at the ACTUAL FACTS for once, you would clearly see that VERY LITTLE has changed since Trump was in the White House. If anything, Biden has been PUSHING the oil and natural gas companies to produce MORE energy, NOT less! But those companies are enjoying their record profits so much, that they are NOT willing to pump more! Sheesh

    3. @frank peletz Even the US Military GETS IT! They are actively switching EVERYTHING over to renewable energies!

  1. I wish Joe Biden would care as much for us energy as he does for Europe!! I wonder whose speech he was reading!! America isn’t serious trouble and the Biden administration has put us there!!

    1. Energy and gas is like free in the US compared to in Europe. Here petrol is $12.50 per gallon right now, and that’s just a little bit over “normal” price.

    2. @Karlsson yup. Been that way a long time. I would have no problem whatsoever if gasoline prices went significantly further higher in the US—it would force people to be way more efficient with their usage. Not to mention reducing payments to various oil states who tend to be run by people I don’t like or disagree with on many issues, such as Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iran, and Venezuela.

I have never owned a car and I am 55 years old. I live in cities and ride a bike or take public transit. Sometimes I have to take an Uber and it is expensive and that’s Ok.

  2. But I thought Joe was so Green and worried about the environment? What happened? The environmentalists are oddly quiet.

    2. Didn’t the EU complain two years ago that America needed to go green like they did? Now they need fossil fuels?

    1. As a European the US aren’t forcing us to do anything, we simply are too reliant on Russia who is our enemy and USA is working with us to become less reliant on Russia, stop talking about stuff you have no idea about, it’s dangerous spreading false narratives that you don’t even fully understand yourself.

    2. @Demonke wake up you halfwit. Europe has been screwed by its full spectrum dominance ‘friends’

  4. I remember when Russia drove energy costs to -$38 per barrel.
Biden seems to be the most inept human being that ever lived.

  5. Biden: we agree on a gas deal
    *Also Biden: Venezuela help!
Biden will go down as one of the worst presidents ever…

  6. What this means is the citizens of the states will pay to give at or below cost fuels to the EU and still have to reduce use here plus pay more for what we use.

  7. well er a I destroyed the US energy independence and now I am here to ask you to depend on me to fix this giant mess I made!!!! where is harris we need some laughs!!!

  8. Good luck European countries! You choose the higher cost, let your citizens pay more. With added responsibility on refugee crisis plus high gas/oil, economy will suffer…. This is what your leader decided for your future!

  9. take the old man to the nursing home,,, he has forgotten the price of gas,,, please call the nursing home as soon as possible

  10. “Call on the Lord in the day of trouble
    and He will deliver you.”

  11. Biden: cut off the Russian Natural Gas supplies will hurt the European, but (the USA don’t care) that is the the cost (for Europe) we (USA) want to pay.(and BTW, we can sell Europe some of our Natural Gas 💰 💰 💰) let’s go Brandon! 👍
