  1. I agree with Jon and have known this for some time. The country fails to address the crux of it’s problems but instead, attempts to patch them when they become a nuisance or a threat.

    1. @LotsOfFun did you also know American caste system was based on race. So Irish slave descendants were able to “assimilate” much easier than African descendants..it’s why African Americans were excluded from the benefits of economic social programs that generated wealth. Such as the GI bill and the homestead act and New deal programs

    2. @Geoffrey K Most Americans would consider pay inequality, affordable housing, affordable health care and affordable education to be major issues that need to be addressed. There are many other issues but those four impact the lives of every American. None of these issues are being addressed.

    3. @Andy imagine what is holding ruzzia together … snips and snails and puppy dog tails ? what a depressing country.

    4. @V for Wombat no, the Mexican border is wide open. It is a big deal. You just want to import future democrat voters.

  2. Sarcasm is a mix of humor and anger wrapped up to make a point and can be very effective. Jon Stewart is clever and needed by the country to balance the crap coming out of other Americans.

    1. @MEND New Zealand i’m not even sure how to present a joke at this point with irony and sarcasm being thrown around. I want to make a sarcastic or ironic joke, but I’m not sure how to do it at this point.

Yeah you’re doing great buddy good job? I failed.

  3. Great to see Jon Stewart after all these years. We need more people in public life who address reality the way JS does.

    1. @BizWiz he gets very busy and irate over “fringe issues” didn’t sound v fringe to me. I think he should try “all consuming” oops hypocrisy revealed

    2. @BizWiz THANX YO’, I COME FROM THE EMPIRE STATE OF KINGS & QUEENS & KEEP 💯💯REAL NIGGAHZ, SO WE AIN’T GOT NO OTHER CHOICE, REAL TALK🙏 ✊😎💯💪🗽🌉🌉🗽✌😁😅😂🤣
HELL, OUR ATTORNEY GENERAL LETITIA TISH JAMES & OUR MANHATTAN DISTRICT ATTORNEY BOTH RAN ON THE PLATFORMS OF BRINGIN’ DOWN TRUMP & FAMILY & ALL OF THA FLUNKIES AROUND HIM & YOU SEE HOW DATZ-THAT’S BEEN WORKIN’ HUH=OOOPSY😁

  4. I have the same problem as Jon. Seeing the republicans sit back and do nothing about climate change for the last fifty years of my life makes me dismayed and in disbelief. They have no honor, no integrity.

    1. Yeah… that seemed like an out-of-touch comment to make on his part. Apathy at all levels of the population I guess.

  5. Thanks to Fareed for giving John Stewart an interview platform to call out the cray cray. Those with power don’t want to solve real problems because they think they will lose power. JS is right on Diversity Equity initiatives being bandaids. I spent 10 years of my professional career with a First Aid kit.

    1. What would be your solution. Everyone says it’s not enough but I don’t see anyone with real solutions.

    2. @hew195050 First step to a permanent solution would be to charge , convict and jail every politician that breaks the law just as if there were a black man doing the same crime.

  6. See this is why he needs to be on tv more,he doesn’t sound angry, he broke it down intelligently that’s all

  7. Jon is spot on. The republicans haven’t put forth one piece of legislation that would actually help everyday Americans in years. Instead they have hearings about Twitter, etc

    1. Democrats have also held multiple hearings on the negative impacts of social media companies. Of all the issues you could’ve named that are GOP time wasters, that’s the only one that isn’t.

  8. Jon Stewart and the Daily Show helped keep me sane. A voice of sanity and reason in the cacophony of confusion.

    1. I have no idea who Jon Stewart is, and even i know that logic is the key, while the rigth and conservative is stuck on what book to burn… and who is a witch…

  9. Humor, rage, frustration – we all feel it right now- thanks so much, Jon, for being so wonderfully articulate for all of us.

    1. @Linda Worthington  “… a lot of us are just tired …”

Well … we could just give up entire the democratic republic …

    2. @Linda Worthington yes and what? Mandatory imposition of black NFL coaches? Mandatory black Nobel prize winners in physics? Where does this end. The lunacy of it all

  10. It’s not that they’re out of ideas , it’s that they have publicly betrayed every last one of their ideals. Fear and hate is all they have left to push.

    1. Yes. When you’re out of ideas you tend to oppose good ideas like Biden’s needed infrastructure bill. Possibly to distract from the fact that you lack ideas

    1. Everyone IS!! It’s just that everyone has a different reason and everyone thinks they are right. The answer is always somewhere in the middle.

    2. @QN They don’t need witches there are all kinds of crazies right in your faces that are way worse than plain old witches.

  11. When someone is scared they can misunderstand reality. Keeping people scared only benefits the ones who want you to remain helpless.

  12. My favorite example of the GOP doing nothing was when Sam Brownback became governor of Kansas and cut the living daylights out of taxes so that they barely had any revenue, which he referred to as a “great experiment”. After two years, the KS economy was near the bottom of the country and Brownback made his reelection campaign about literally anything else, while also saying that the results weren’t in yet. Over the next four years, the KS economy got worse and worse and at no point would Brownback say, “Well, we tried and it didn’t work,” and Kris Kobach got absolutely rocked in the next election, which he promptly blamed on the media.

  13. The fact that Jon remains as human as he does is frankly a gift we should all be grateful for.
