My father was doing some soybean plowing one day, when I came
running up and said: “Dad, there’s a man at the door asking us who we will vote for and will we donate money.”
“That’s okay” said my father. “Now you go back and find
out what political party he is. If he’s a republican, lock up the
chicken house, cause he’ll want to steal some chickens.
If he’s a democrat, lock up the moonshine, cause he’ll tax it.
And if he’s Trump, sit between your mother’s legs until I get there.”

There used to be an advert for Dime bars that went,
_Dime Bars! Smooth on the outside, crunchy on the inside._
A tv comic changed it to
      Armadillos!
      Crunchy on the outside
      Smooth on the inside.
      Which reminded me of Trump…
      Ugly on the outside
      Empty on the inside

It’s not just people of color. It is also people who are poor. It is people who have less of an education. It is people of color thinking that because someone is “white” they have grown up privileged. This is not true. If you don’t have money, if you don’t have an education, if you have not grown up in a powerful home you have to struggle and hide. It is worse for women. They get exposed and have to put up with sexual incidents.

    We’re all called
    Our shared humanity ❤️

  11. And I saw a beast rising out of the sea, with ten horns and seven heads, with ten diadems on its horns and blasphemous names on its heads. And the beast that I saw was like a leopard; its feet were like a bear’s, and its mouth was like a lion’s mouth. And to it the dragon gave his power and his throne and great authority. One of its heads seemed to have a mortal wound, but its mortal wound was healed, and the whole earth marveled as they followed the beast. And they worshiped the dragon, for he had given his authority to the beast, and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast, and who can fight against it?” And the beast was given a mouth uttering haughty and blasphemous words, and it was allowed to exercise authority for forty-two months. …

Aw god, “Shame, Shame,” is a beautiful song. From his family’s sweet memories of him, I’d wager our Brother-King George Floyd would dig it & be proud of our Brother-King John Forte’s masterful effort. GBU, you both, Ari. GBU, Brother-King George Floyd. God bless us, all.👀🌬
We should def ask Rev. Al to play it, as we march on Washington D.C., on August 28, 2020. Thinking it will be one of my top “Gird Your Loins” songs, to helpp me stay focused. 😇 See you brothers in D.C.

John Forte your protest song is real good…very thoughtful and compelling. I appreciate what you are saying…it’s packed full and you capture the time and situation we are in perfectly. Your words are healing and I hope it gets through to those who could benefit greatly from hearing this…thank you! I love Billie Holiday and her song Strange Fruit is heartbreaking and so haunting. I hope many people can hear your song. Much love.
