    1. @Dave Hillare you saying that it’s appropriate for the canadian government to allow a foreign national with immunity from prosecution to remain on canadian soil after he threatened canadians because they’re worried about that foreign government’s response?

  1. How low does public confidence have to be before this government has lost the right to govern ??

  2. She knows Beijing has YouTube too, right? And they just watched her announce that we’re afraid to defend our democracy because we’re afraid of their reaction. That’s probably what they told her to say, mind you.

  3. Minister Joly is the perfect example of giving a job to somebody who is highly unqualified because she is a woman and Francophone

    1. @ege projection is a skill. She has topped Freeland as the worst foreign affairs minister Canada has ever had.

    2. she took the title from Chrystia Freeland as the worst Foreign Affairs minister in Canadian history.

  4. Offend a dictatorship that Threatened CANADIANS or…. Stand up for Canadians… hard call to make 😅

  5. The diplomat has big investments here and family, and they know if they demand he leave he’s going to rat them all out.
So they are delicately making him leave. He’s going to get a kick back for compensations to protect this Government and you are all paying for it.

The punishment should be for him to leave immediately and let him whine, he deserves it, but this government is preventing that.

  6. this is appalling the stance the ministry of foreign affairs is taking. Is it more important to protect our citizens or is it more important to protect the diplomat and the PRC? They talk out of both sides of their mouth you can not believe a word any liberal says. I agree with Mr. Chong they might as well put up a billboard ” Come on it threaten our citizens its ok as long as you pay our liberal caucus”

    1. What is appalling is the fact that you are here posting your opinion, when your name is not even recognizable For all I know you could be the individual who threatened him and his family and you are now stating how appalling it all is in an effort to blend into Canadian society, and throw the authorities off your trail.

    2. @Jimmy Arbutus excuse me my name is as plain as yours. Does it hit close to home? Ate you a PRC lover like JT?

  7. I am with Michael Chong on this. I am so disappointed with Trudeau’s pathetic government. Canada is so screwed.

    1. @Tell Allare you seriously asking this question? Or have you been living under a rock? Canada is in such a depressive state right now.

    2. @Salvatore Anzalone if you are currently on YouTube commenting from a dirty trailer using dial-up internet then I understand you

    3. @Tell Allif your judging the stat of Canada on our internet connection you are going to be very shocked what’s coming

  8. In the interest of the Country of Canada this diplomat has to go. Stand up and do what’s right you cowards !!!

  9. Joly: the diplomat is still here because we are assessing the situation to protect our democracy…… Really? Like saying it’s freezing in the house with the front door wide open in January because we are assessing how to keep the house warm

  10. As she stated – in her own words, she is the Minister of “Foreign Interference” that’s a more accurate title for her. I wish MP Chong caught her as she mis-spoke. If Pierre was there, he would have embarrassed her with that freudian slip.

  11. Interesting “we need to protect our democracy” you weren’t nearly as cautious when you chose to evoke the Emergencies Act.

    1. Hey, hey that was way different. Those protesters were honking horns and inflating bouncy castles.

    1. Fired for failing to read her own briefings. What was she doing instead of being up to date on relevant files?

    2. @Thelonious M
What … fired for not reading the briefings that preceded her appointment as the Foreign Affairs Minister?
Let’s fire her for not dealing with the drunk Russian too? Why not – since she wasn’t the Minister then either, right?
      LOL!

    3. @Leah Casey the drunk Russian was a long time ago. She has been the minister just months after the the report 1st came out.

  12. It appears that Melanie is not less arrogant than her boss, Justin: she just doesn’t answer questions! Power corrupts!

  13. As a Canadian citizen, I feel sad to be protected by the current Canadian government. In fact, there is no protection at all. Can not wait for the next election…
