Yes, they are failed states.
The governments of Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador are under siege by ruthless drug cartels, threatening families unless they participate in illegal activities. That’s why so many women and children are fleeing for their lives.
IMO, we need to nip the problem in the bud by providing protection for their political leaders and shut down the cartels. Then, the people can safely stay and work in their homelands, where they belong.

@The Hermit : The DEA & CIA are running new, large operations in several of these hotspots all over South America, so I hear on the grapevine, but can’t talk about it, for obvious reasons. The biggest problems they face is the government officials who are corrupted. Since the trump era, they’ve had a problem with corrupt Americans in Columbia, and they’re still working to clear that up. Guess we’ll have to wait for another Netflix series to get the skinny on all that? In about 10 years from now?
@Electro Crypto : Trump did more harm, in all of the regards you mentioned, in four years, than Bush did by starting those wars 20 years ago. And China was already a superpower at the time. Opening up to free trade economy made them stronger, as was predicted. But, liberalisation of the markets has also made them more reliant on the west for continued growth and prosperity. Perhaps, if people like trump weren’t trading in steel, sweatshops, voter machine manufacturing, and setting up countless other franchises with China, things would be different? After all, his secret bank accounts in China exist for a reason?

Canada had a good plan and seemed to work, follow that plan.
In Canada once refugees have been vetted ( finger and DNA taken, interpole contacted ….all that stuff) 5 volunteers are assign to one family, those volunteers are then to monitor and help the family with everything…find housing, fill out forms needed..sign up for English lessons…drivers license …..everything, for a full year or longer if needed. The volunteers are often from the churches…one church in Toronto helped 30 families. Refugees aren’t all dumped into a small town or a large city they are spread out everywhere .
