NYC vaccine mandate: What to expect and what it means for other states | Just the FAQs

NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio just mandated proof of vaccination for indoor restaurants, gyms and performance venues. Here's how that will work. RELATED:

New York City will soon require proof of COVID-19 vaccination for people to enter indoor restaurants, gyms and entertainment venues, a move endorsed by President Joe Biden, who on Tuesday continued to push for more Americans to get vaccinated.

New York's new requirement, the first of its kind in a major U.S. city, will go into effect Aug. 16, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Tuesday.

“The goal here is to convince everyone that this is the time,'' de Blasio said. "If we’re going to stop the delta variant, the time is now.''

    1. This needs to happen. That way they can’t blame the unvaxxed for being superspreaders….and so the businesses can see how many customers they’re gonna lose.

    2. @Wasteland Interceptor Not yet….not over restaurants and bars….wait until it’s grocery stores and medical treatment….that’s when it’s time.

    1. Didn’t you hear Kamala, the people of the US are to stupid to vote…. er, ah I mean use a Photocopier… er, ah I meant realize what’s really going on… er, yeah we’re all screwed!

  1. So the lady of liberty has lost the keys to her city. You hypocrites have neglected the more important matters of the law and justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former.

    1. @ALFREDO YSADA
Considering what I have seen from government in the last 30 years, if I had a choice, I’d take God any day.

  2. All statute’s are presumed to have your consent unless you say “it ain’t me.”
    No consent=no contract=no jurisdiction.

    1. You have no clue. That is truly the stupidest lie I have seen all day, and that’s going some. Laws affect most the people who don’t like them; if you are a robber you don’t like laws against robbery.

    2. Yes but we gotta make it a country that’s freedom not communist country. Stand up without violence

    3. @flagmichael true laws affects the mid/ low class but that’s why we gotta stand up together to break a mandate that’s taking our freedom away. This is America not chin✊

  3. This is what our fathers and grandfathers fought against in the world wars, and why we broke away from King George

    1. @finger speak I argee. I’m pretty much an introvert by nature. I have my own gym and cook my own meals and when i go out, its mostly to a parks or libraries. I understand how it would effect people who are used to these types of everyday functions though. Its tyranny.

    2. 😂, if we don’t get vaccinated then we’ll be transported to the death camps. Oops I mean happy work camps!

  4. Man, I guess these businesses don’t want my money. That’s perfectly ok. Also, if the vaccine works so well those who have it shouldn’t be scared, correct?

    1. Fact is – it doesn’t. The Minister of Health reported to the UK that ~40% of their COVID *hospitilizations* are FULLY VACCINATED. Seems the USA doesn’t want to report on their numbers regarding vacced hospitilizations. And we are being told that fully vaxed people can still spread the rona asymptomatically. We’re also being told that the vax will not prevent symptoms from “delta”. So… what’s the point? I’ll take my chances on that >99% survival – especially because I have NO underlying conditions (99.1% dead had comorbidities) and ~80% were over 65.

  5. Netflix’s and Uber eats will make billions, rip small restaurants and movie theaters 🤣🤣🤣

    1. Yeap. That is what I was thinking. These places will be hurting. I predict a lot of businesses will end up having to shut their doors.

    1. I was thinking that too. In the area I live almost every business is hiring due to being short staffed. Some places having to close early. Some people are happy just sitting at home getting a check. Now the workers that are out there working are being forced to get the covid vaccine. So this means there will be less workers. Now they are going to ban people from eating in restaurants without a vaccine card. So this means businesses are going to suffer. This world is going downhill fast.

  6. “When tyranny becomes law, rebellion becomes duty.”… so what time are the protests????? take notice to what France is doing right now

    1. @Bobby J Bear Yet about 2/3 of Americans decided to become vaccinated – my entire family did, but we have three frontline medical people in it and we are smart enough to research things. Your mass is a minority, and there are an awful lot of outright paranoids among it.

    1. Yes indeed but also cumito I’m sure many politicians have not gotten jabs.
      Politicians cuz got the pull
Wealthy got the money what’s left is the poor souls US getting the virus jabs
