U.S. District Judge Cynthia Bashant ruled last May that “no set of facts that could support a claim for defamation based on Maddow’s statement.”

Odd here in the UK when you hear the words right wing you hear the name Putin, but when Russia is mentioned in politics in the US you think Communist and Putin. Modern Russia under Putin is not a Communist state it is a right leaning autocracy .

@robert caldwell No, actually T commuted his sentence. Had he pardoned Stone, as he did the others, the pardon means you are guilty of a crime. SCOTUS ruled on this long ago. For T and Stone, though, the bigger issue is in accepting a pardon, you lose your right to plead the 5th. T and Stone have been besties forever and would never want Stone to HAVE to answer questions. 😊

Not necessarily. It’s because they haven’t gone “woke” and as far left as some Democrats. Take a look at some old speeches by Bill Clinton or even early on when Obama first became president. They said the exact same things that Trump was saying! It’s unbelievable when you go back and watch this. I have no clue what happened to the Democrat party, but they aren’t what they used to be, that’s for sure. No wonder so many people are walking away from them. As Reagan said, “I didn’t leave the Democrat party, the Democrat party left me.”
Sadly, my guess is that there’s a number of “Old School” and centrist Dem’s that just want to go back to making symbolic gestures on behalf of Americans, crafting corporate welfare and pocketing corporate money and are happy to let Manchin and Sinema take all the heat for it. Still better than the denial of facts/reality, fascism and racism in the GQP, but I certainly feel that not treating the threat from the right seriously is far more dangerous then they want to admit.

It’s almost bizarre how the right has morphed from “conservative” values to nationalism, populism and some other uglier isms so quickly, almost as if they already were all those things and were just gaslighting with “conservative values”, financial responsibility, and small government.
