  2. dougie is working hard to dumb down Ontario. look how well not needing secondary education to become a police officer is working out for the USA.

    1. I don’t believe it was a “blunder”.
Next, he’ll stop all psych evaluations for prospective police, too.

  3. That is what Ontario needs – more stupid policemen!
It will be intersesting to see just how “diverse” this new intake of recruits proves to be.
NOTE: UInfortunately that involves reporting – not just repeating government statements.

  4. Lower standards, lower performance. Absolutely the wrong direction. We need better education and training, incentives to retain excellent performance, incentives to rid corruption in the police forces.

  5. Less police education should come with a cut in pay, and substantially more monitoring and training over many years.

  6. Call and email your conservative MPPs about this and voice your opposition. Fix the policing management culture. Don’t lower standards!!

  7. As a student that has has a diploma in police foundations and currently in third year of a bachelors of police studies degree I can say that this new generation of police officer needs proper education. Education in police ethics, psychology, and community involvement are what shapes a persons mindset into becoming a proper police officer. Understanding the consequences of police courses of action is what makes police more aware of their behaviour which means less mistakes and more trust toward sour police service. Trust and respect is laking in police in todays society and education helps so much by transforming police into more suitable officers. Policing isn’t a job for everyone.

  8. You can bet his Science Centre deal is to free up some prime real estate for one of his developer buddies to turn into condos !

  9. Why don’t they just recruit our future law enforcement officers from the prison programs…kind of like what police academy did 😂🤣
