A three-week lockdown in certain regions of the province is necessary to blunt the explosive growth of the variants of concern, Ontario’s COVID-19 scientific advisory table says.
Dr. Peter Juni, the scientific director of the advisory table, believes Ontario could see between 2,500 to 5,000 new cases of COVID-19 per day in a few weeks, if the current trends continue.

Yes it will only be just 3 weeks. Just as it all started a year ago when the government said, it’s only going to take 2 weeks to flatten the curve and we haven’t been able to get out from underneath the government’s personal sovereignty crushing boot. Our federal and provincial governments are following China’s lead at dictatorship.

@Chompstomp It was only going to be two weeks to “flatten the curve”, meaning a two week lockdown, not designed to stop transmission, but to ostensibly slow the spread so that hospitals didn’t become “overwhelmed”.

At this stage of the game, a European or Australian-style lockdown would NEVER work in Ontario. They tried to create this atmosphere with the Grey Zone in November and it was an abject failure. Target measures at known vectors of infection.
