By now, most of us have seen the photos from the Wisconsin primary, where voters had to stand for hours in lines that wrapped around city blocks in the cold, pouring rain. To exercise what was supposed to be their most sacred democratic right, people had to risk catching the deadly coronavirus — and several did.
It’s part of a playbook that Republicans have deployed for years in battleground states like Wisconsin and my home state of North Carolina. If we don’t legislate now to make mail-in voting easier in November, the Republican Party might just steal another election. This time, it won’t be a congressional race at stake. It will be American democracy itself.

Mark bodman : You are exactly right which is what I’ve been saying for a long time. Whenever i point out that 33 states have 10 or fewer votes, and 15 of those have 5 or fewer ? And with numbers like that, what are democrats complaining about ? I usually get no response. I also point out I’m in Indiana and we get 11 votes. It takes 5 states our size, just to equal California. You have to win ALL OVER the country.

This idea of mail in vote fraud is BS. In states with mail in voting, you get your ballot in the mail, because you are a REGISTERED VOTER, with a mailing address. You mail it back in. I trust the US Postal Service more than any stranger at a polling place. What makes anyone positive about what happens to their ballot after they leave?
And what’s to stop the 22 million illegal immigrants in America today from voting by mail?? What’s to stop all the dead people from voting??
@Mark bodman mail in ballots have a barcode specific to the voter. You put the correct ballot in the correct envelope and trust your government can get it right from there.
