Trump WH attorney to John Eastman: Get a good f****** criminal defense lawyer

January 6 committee co-chair Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) released an extended clip of former White House lawyer Eric Herschmann's testimony in which he said he warned conservative attorney John Eastman who advised the Trump campaign to back off plans to file appeals in Georgia based on the election results after the events of January 6, 2021. #CNN #News

  1. Every person who testified knew what was going on but did nothing to stop the crime. Most were lawyers that know the law. Not one of them blew the whistle. Every one of them covered up the crime.

    1. It’s because they knew not just the law but the justice system they thought “ain’t nobody gonna convict us even if we’re caught thanks to Republican’s” but let’s just see what happens.

  2. Thing is, Eastman knew all the several reasons Hersh would say that well-before, but rolled the dice anyway. He must’ve thought they’d be successful in the coup. He was wrong.

    1. @William Crowley I am sorry that this happened to you. I, personally, will reach retirement age, as a teacher, at the end of next week. Now, I have felt betrayed by a education structure for which I worked hard for more than twenty years for not acknowledging my work. But, another structure is behaving, for which I have worked the same amount of time is adamant to allow me the space to say good bye in a dignified way, But I agree, this hurts. And it is insane. Please keep in mind that you had the courage to defend your principles. Best wishes.

    2. @Caribbean Girl so far nothing has happened. Its all a waste of time.
Fix the economy – since they screwed it up, and the border, and the baby formula shortage, and gas prices, and Covid!!!

  3. Firstly, the committee did not charge the the Proud boys or Oath keeper, DOJ did. Secondly, the committee is tasked with finding facts and presenting an overview of what happened leading up to, during and after Jan 6th, it is not one side.

    1. @tom martinez there are some other pretty serious “facts”, as you put it, the church needs to recognize. Not Giving communion to politicians to clearly take a POLITICAL STANCE, ain’t one of them.

  5. I am SO going to love watching an educated, intelligent, skillful, black, female, district attorney, Fani Willis, take the angry mango DOWN! She is NOT scared, she has the law on her side, and her case is a slam dunk with the idiot on an audio recording, trying to steal MY VOTE!

She is also beautiful, but that is just a bonus!

    1. @Ol’Chevy I like a nice dark skin. Lawrence Fishburne was my biggest crush for years when I was younger.
Is that a bad thing? Can’t I say that without it being questioned and being taken all out of proportion?

  6. Eric Herschmann’s testimony is pure gold, someone who understands how things are supposed to work, brilliant. I love his free legal advice to eastman.

    1. @J. M. Upon thinking about it, I have to agree with you, at least in the moment he did the right thing with regards to eastman but why he didn’t go to the FBI is a serious transgression.

  7. It’s a rarity these days to see a Republican with the courage to recognize and push back against his party’s blatant lies.

  8. when McCarthy begged him to tell the rioters to leave the Capitol: “Well, Kevin, I guess these people are more upset about the election than you are.” On the night of Jan. 5, when Pence told Trump that he had no authority to overturn the election, Trump was listening to the raucous crowd gathered outside the White House and asked the vice president, “What if these people say you do?”

  9. Every member of Trump’s Sedition Coalition MUST be held accountable for their crimes against our country…
📢 LOCK THEM UP! 📢 LOCK THEM UP!

  10. Haha, that probably was the best _FREE_ legal advice he has ever had. Lie, steal, cheat and grift all their way to power. All while the poorly educated kept paying the bills for the con..

  11. Thanks for reporting on these hearings, CNN. Your coverage has been first-rate – unlike Fox, who’d rather they weren’t happening.

    1. @tom lund Hey Cletus – don’t forget to keep donating to Donald’s “defence fund” 😂🎣🐑

  13. I want to see indictments, arrests and trials! It’s time those in power be held accountable for their actions!! 😑
