US Navy tests aircraft carrier with massive explosion | USA TODAY

The US Navy conducted tests on its newest aircraft carrier to test the ability of the ship to deal with battle conditions before its full deployment.

The ship was designed using advanced computer modeling methods, testing, and analysis to ensure the ship is hardened to withstand battle conditions, and these shock trials provide data used in validating the shock hardness of the ship.
