  1. And this is exactly why repubicans will never win the black vote. But what puzzles me that Republicans don’t seem to understand why. They’ll pizz on people of color, and then turn right around and ask them to vote for them.😂😄And then they’re shocked when they don’t vote for them. It’s like, how obtuse can the Republican party possibly be?

    1. Good point. Must be an issue on Mind set due confusion of greed of power, blinded on philosophy of wealth economics, while they control most State govt, scared of losing control to lead.

    2. Republicans make the rules, the rules work but not to their favor then they want to nullify the rules and say everyone cheated. Good luck with the we need more diversity drive.

    3. Has anyone here read the bill or are you depending on the media to tell you what’s in it? So one thing GA republicans are trying to do is expand early voting by 4 more days. They are stopping outside groups from sending people vote by mail applications when said person has already submitted a vote by mail application. They are requiring a drivers license number to match you with your mail in vote or a state issued ID number. The state issued ID is free by the way. They also want you to vote in you’re own precinct with this bill. Why would you not vote in an area where the ballot also contains localized elections as well? Not sure how any of this is suppressing the vote. Most Americans would agree that these items make sense and many other states require very similar measures for mail in ballots. The bright side is that if you don’t like election law, you can vote for people who want to change it in your state….for now while the states still control their own elections. I wish all states would go to 100% mail in voting. Just think about how they would make that happen, it would be great the voter rolls would be purged and up to date before every single election at any level. It would take time, but it would require perfect voter rolls which is a good thing for everyone.

    1. @Billy Scenic Nancy didn’t have any intention of overthrowing the government she just wanted to distract from the proceedings going on inside, she couldn’t have asked for a better opportunity. You need to show her a little appreciation.

    2. @Wilma Flyer Ya it was a big organized coup thousands of Trump supporters brought a flagpole to take over the Capitol, that’s one helluva ballzy scheme . Maybe some people really gullible

    3. Texas:  “You can’t do voting that way, it’s unconstitutional.”

Supreme Court:  “Too late, they’re already elected.”

Democrats:  “Now that we’re elected, let me tell you how we’re going to do voting from now on.”

      See how that works?

  2. The GOP is the bane of America’s democracy.
Let’s be clear, the only reason Trump won in 2016 was because millions of Americans stayed home and didn’t vote. But after 4 years of Trump, they were NOT about to make that same mistake again. In 2016, Trump lost the popular vote by 3 million. In 2020, Trump lost the popular vote by more than 7 million. in the 2020 election, it was all hands on deck.

    1. Biden is SO POPULAR that he actually got 10 times the number of votes actually cast for him (including tens of millions of votes originally cast for Trump)… but you’re right, the GOP is the problem.

    2. @Moe Zura well at least you got one thing right …. the GOP is the problem …no doubt about that.

    3. @Corey Ham the GOP is only part of the problem… the MAIN problem is people like YOU that think there’s a difference between democrats and republicans… if you get past that one, then we’ll talk.

    4. @Moe Zura LOL.. with views like yours … why would I or anyone with any informed views even be interested in talking to you. Doubt you could have anything of significance worth talking about.

    5. @Corey Ham “with views like yours”… you don’t know ANYTHING about me. have you visited my YouTube channel?

    1. Republicans make the rules, the rules work but not to their favor then they want to nullify the rules and say everyone cheated. Good luck with the we need more diversity drive.

  3. How do you even call yourself a Democracy if one party is willing to disenfranchise the American people’s right to vote.

    1. Because a democracy requires a constant watch and constant work. This is all part of the process of building and protecting and guiding democratic policies and governance. Study history and you’ll understand.

    2. Republicans make the rules, the rules work but not to their favor then they want to nullify the rules and say everyone cheated. Good luck with the we need more diversity drive.

    3. @Tessmage Tessera lol, you don’t get out much, eh? Yes, it is absolutely Democrats that want a higher minimum wage. It’s literally their legislation, specifically the progressive Democrats.

It’s true that several high ranking centrist Democrats either don’t support it, or don’t support it enough to lay any political capital on the line to get it passed, but it is 100% an idea that was put forward by Democrats.

If you think for a split second that the GQP, who are so clearly in the pockets of corporate interests and worse, would ever pass legislation that actually helps the poor and the working class, you clearly either aren’t paying attention or your the most gullible person in the room and you believe the lies your AM radio and Fox news constantly spews.

So which is it? Have you been duped by the right wing propoganda, or do you just not get out very much? There’s always door #3, you could also easily be a troll, paid in rubles, posing as an American “conservative.”

    1. Natch.
Do come for a visit once the pandemic subsides. I recommend the barbecue.
      Best Wishes from Hogtown, Florida.

  4. No one will say straight out, “I like voter suppression.” That’s what this is. EVERY voter, including Republicans, should be against voter suppression. An unfair tactic which you normalize to use against your “enemies” might someday be used against you. P.S. Losing a fair election is not disenfranchisement. It’s government of, by, and for the people.

  5. The GQP knows they can’t win without cheating. How absurd is it that a party needs to choose their voters to win. Pathetic

    1. They don’t offer anything for people to vote for they are only against something not for it. If they ever had any real platform then they would stand a chance. But when you offer nothing but conspiracies lies hatred fear and racism then no wonder they cheat no one would vote for them otherwise.

    2. @Wilma Flyer in republican led states? They weren’t dumps, they organize ballots before hand then count it.

    3. @Kababy Loadmanagement Don’t bother trying to reason with these people… They are truly too far gone at this point. Best course of action is to simply down out their BS paranoid propoganda with the truth. There are FAR more of us than there is of them. Give it another 5 years or so and over half the GQP nutbags will have died off. Soon, once they are gone, perhaps then we can have a functioning democracy and we can all agree on a basic understanding of objective reality again. Can’t come soon enough, imho!

  6. WELL THE LATE GREAT RICHARD PRYOR SAID “WE HAVE TO STAY 5 OR 6 STEPS AHEAD.BECAUSE “THEY” ARE GOING TO PUSH US 5 STEPS BEHIND”..IT’S SO INSULTING THAT AFTER ALL” WE DID” AND ALL THOSE “WHO DIED.”.JUST FOR THE RIGHT TO VOTE..AND NOW “THEY “ARE DOING EVERYTHING “THEY”CAN DO STOP US FROM VOTING..

    1. With Hr1, its the Feds who violate Article II of the Constitution by usurping states’ rights on handling elections.

  7. Anti voter bill is just another way of saying dictatorship or authoritarianism not democracy .

    1. Republicans make the rules, the rules work but not to their favor then they want to nullify the rules and say everyone cheated. Good luck with the we need more diversity drive.

    2. The Constitution is clear. STATE LEGISLATURES, not the Feds, make their respective election rules. The GOP was asleep at the wheel in 2020 by allowing governors and election officials to make last minute changes. At least 20 states have told Pelosi they won’t submit to HR1, and the Supreme Court, lame as it is, will shoot it down.

  8. When I listen to this interview. America is a mess. It is a up hill battle. A great number of Americans are really races.

    1. Canada here when we file our income tax there is a box on the form that says if you want to share your identification with Elections Canada then you put a tick mark in the box and you are automatically register to vote.

    2. You do realise that a lot of non citizens and even a lot of foreign non residents file US tax returns, right?

  9. It’s absolutely terrible what’s going on in Georgia with these anti-voting bills and the fact that GOP can get away with this is even more terrible. The FBI should launch a full investigation into all the GOP political officials in Georgia for any criminal acts that they have committed and the people of Georgia should stand up and fight against these bills for it is violating their rights and I dare say the US Constitution as well.

What the Georgia GOP is doing is nothing short than voter suppression and they need to be prosecuted to the full us extent of the law.

  10. I think it is interesting to note that Andrew Young’s daughter works within the ACLU rather than the NAACP or BLM. Kudos to her and the diversity of American options to fight the good fight.

  11. Its appalling that US democracy is one of the lasting democracy in the world and yet voting rights still an issue!! God help us..

  12. When the republican party blocks and suppresses votes it is no longer a party for the people by the people it is a party that wants absolute power

  13. What they really want to say is that if you’re black you can’t vote. The rest is window dressing.
