    1. no chance manitoba joins wexit, manitoba isn’t an oil dependant province and we feel contempt in canada. winnipeg controls manitoba politically and it’s a majority nod/ liberal city. manitoba is extremely different politically than sask and alberta

    2. Fantastic idea! Wow you think it’s feasible? They ship western grain there now. It’s a win win situation for all three provinces.

  1. We have unqualified , incompetent leaders running this country. I still cannot believe Canadians reelected this tool!

  2. At this point the planet is dependent on oil and will be for some time , why should alberta and Saskatchewan fall on the sword while other countries prosper , is canadas economy not important enough ?

    1. @mbogucki1 don’t tell them that. It’s far easier for them to blame everyone except themselves. In my life time, Alberta has gone from bust 4 times. Whenever the oil price is up, they never think it may go down one day. Ils doivent apprendre à mieux gérer leur revenus pétroliers.

    2. @Petit Ben Blaming everyone else but themselves? The western alienation has little to do with the actual price of oil … it has to do with how the West feels they are treated in this confederation.

Again, when Quebec was pushing for separation, it was private individual citizens from the West that mounted their tractors and trailers and made a show of support to their Eastern French counterparts in a message of unity. When the auto companies faced turmoil it was the west along with everyone else that was forced to open their tax payer pocket books and foot the bill to ‘save’ these jobs. Yet when the forestry industry collapsed due to international managed trade issues, not a peep. When billions of dollars exit the market due to less regulated, more friendly market conditions down south, not a peep. Its not oil prices …. its alienation, apathy and ignorance that troubles many in the West.

If we truly are supposed to be a confederation working together for our mutual benefit, it would be nice not to feel taken advantage of, mocked, derided or shunned, most especially since everyone is more than happy to take their fair share of revenues from the West.

    3. @Tanya De Beer I worked and lived in Alberta for 10 years, I have also lived and worked back east and I have no idea what you are talking about. You say charter, judges, abuses what the hell are you talking about? Try being specific. This divide is about the oil industry and climate change and the fact that the two do not go together.

  3. iPosos pole I suspect is not giving the clear picture of the position Albertans will take when it gets down to it. Albertans will vote for our future which is to leave.

    1. and oil is just one peice of the puzzle as well as pipelines if we built 10pipelines I still feel that canada is a dream that failed

    1. @bogeyednut burke Justin truduhh prefers importing oil from the saudi’s..selling cruded oil to the Americans so they can refine it and sell it back to Canada..liberals bought the pipe line with taxpayers money only to shut it down…virtue signaling justin truduhh got snookered by the americans on a 57 billion dollar deal with China…even India got the better of Canada…American economy is doing better than ever ..while canada under the liberals..is in danger of a recession..it’s pathetic.

    2. @bogeyednut burke If we have such an ‘edge’ over other provinces, explain why Alberta has been raped to the tune of over $600,000,000,000 dollars? That is how much more we have paid in to ottawa, then we get in benefits,. The victims of this crime are sick of being victims, so ungrateful leeches like you, can live on welfare,

  4. Not recognising this boiling pot as more than just talk is silly… Canadians from the east cost let down westerners for the last time

    1. It was Ontario and Quebec that did the letting down don’t drag the Atlantic provinces in on that we have less say then you do in the West

  5. Brett Wilson said it in one word …ACTION ! However not one of my friends in Alberta or Saskatchewan believe anything will happen but a continued down spiral of our once great and innovative energy patch. We want out …period . Hope is not a strategy!

    1. Then get out. I hear plenty of places in South America have nice weather. I sure hope you are not making the mistake of thinking that the resources in Alberta belongs to anyone other than ALL OF CANADA.

  6. Let’s go we will be way better off on our own. Confederation has never worked and never will work for the west. We are already alone and set up to fail and stay that way unless we leave now.
