  1. Polio vaccine has been available since 1955. The inactivated polio vaccine (IPV) was available first, given as a shot, in 1955. A more convenient form, called oral polio vaccine (OPV), was given as liquid drops via the mouth. It was developed in 1961. OPV was recommended for use in the United States for almost 40 years, from 1963 until 2000. The results have been miraculous: Polio was eliminated from the United States in 1979 and from the Western Hemisphere in 1991.

    1. In laymans terms: As soon as it was developed in 1955, it was administered in 1955 and “perfected” in 1961…SIX YEARS LATER! Ya’ll want to WAIT that long to make up your minds about getting the Fauci Ouchy? Given the VIRULENCE of delta, think you will last? Naw foo get your shot!

  2. There should be a national mask mandate for EVERYONE regardless vaccination status, not to punish the vaccinated but unvaccinated people JUST WONT WEAR MASKS unless there’s a mandate. We should have a mandate for all federal employees, military, state employees, healthcare workers to get vaccinated

    1. You enter what could be a very slippery slope without hesitation. Mandates could be a threat to democracy, however, in the midst of a pandemic when people are dying every day, it’s justified. Businesses should have the right to be open without using quarantine guidelines, as long as they notify people before they enter their establishments. It’s a persons choice as to whether or not they want to enter. A compromise would be if you want to use protection you can glove up and wear a mask, it’s on the individual. Right now we are in the midst of a pandemic, so you would think that the stores utilizing quarantine guidelines would do far more business than a store that isn’t. It shouldn’t require a mandate

    2. @Brian Brett To play off of your point, you could use this to justify a lot of things that are illegal. You could justify drunk driving as long as the driver had a sign saying he was drunk. I mean if you saw someone you knew was drunk, you could just not drive near them… Except this doesn’t work at all, too many lives are still put at risk, just so someone can do something they do not NEED to do (either driving drunk, or not wearing a mask, it’s all a choice). Mandates and laws are how people are kept safe, and people will always see them as oppression, but that is not a reason to dissolve into the attitude of extreme libertarianism of no mandates.

    3. @kikyo No. You need to educate YOURSELF. Go to the CDC’s own wensite. Over 6000 VACCINATED people have now died from Covid. CDC said that number was “accidentally doubled a few days ago cause of glitch in system but they said that it would be corrected and was only a bit over 6000.
I have NO PATIENCE for people who are too lazy to even go to the Jensaki approved government site but then spout MSM nonsense and tell other people to “educate yourself”
      Complete morons.

    4. @The Redshirt Browncoat Don’t you mean “brownshirt”?
The “science is settled re drunk driving – not masks. Almost all studies show wearing masks doesnt really help – at least not the face diaper used. This is without considering other negative consequences, psychological and biological. Not only does increaed CO2 in masks make it harder for many to breath they make your FACE A BACTERIAL GROWTH PLATE. Having spent many hours in microbiology depts I can tell you MOST culture plates for bacteria (not viruses) go into incubator with increased CO2. Guess you didnt think about that when you wrote your clever “drunk” analogy did you?

    5. @Susan Blood None of that is true, and you likely know it. The science is done on masks too, they restrict the flow of particulate, reducing the spread. Misinformation is not going to get you far here.

Nice attempted Nazi joke, but you are as misinformed about pop culture as you are of medical practices.

  3. I used to go to the comments section on newsfeeds about vaccines and argue with the anti vaxers. I finally threw up my hands and gave up a few weeks ago. I don’t even bother anymore. It’s in their own hands!

  4. Americans really don’t like each other…it’s a me, me, me society … not so much the greatest country on earth…

    1. Agreed, as an American I hate other Americans. They’re all so rude, don’t they know how important I am. I own stocks. I’m objectively better than you. Out of my way poor.

    2. Many people without health insurance cannot afford the cost of potential side effects of the vaccine. Wearing masks stops the spread of germs

    1. actually that’s just the loud obnoxious ones. there is not a monolithic ‘anti vaxxer’ as much as MSM and apparently you would like us to believe.

    2. Yep, Red States… their constituents are dropping like flies. It’s hard to feel sorry for them at this point.

  5. THIS IS WHAT THE ORANGE RECITED ON 01/06!!!!! THE TOXIC ORANGE IS MAKING THE INQUIRY VERY EASY TO SEE WHO THE INSTIGATORS ARE BY ALLOWING THE TOXIC ORANGE TO CONTINUE DRIBBLING THE TOXIC ELIXER FROM HIS TOXIC MOUTH!!!!!!!!!!

    1. You’re absolutely right. The Bible is the root cause to a lot of problems in this country.

  6. Why does it have to be that the problem come knocking at one’s door to realize there is a problem?

  7. I disagree that facebook is to blame, everyone makes a choice. They made a desision to believe a lie. Dumb and dummer.

    1. Yeah. I usually don’t defend private corporations. But Facebook shouldn’t be responsible to make sure no one is lying on their platform. It is the people’s responsibility to make sure they educate themselves and I don’t consider those who allowed their biases, their tribalism, or their pettiness as victims. They’re _not_ victims. They’re idiots.

  8. At my Walmart, you can’t trust the Anti-Vax Spreaders to wear a mask. As a result, we must mandate masks, to be worn properly, instead of putting up with sulky adolescent-types who will not cover up their spread-holes! My Walmart needs a team of serious Security officers to enforce this because people will not voluntarily do this simple thing when asked to help this own neighbors.

  9. I find it hard to believe that joe was ever a Republican. He is right about the smart people dumb part tho. Just doesn’t realize that he’s one of them.

  10. When will insurers start demanding that anyone seeking health or life insurance be vaccinated against Covid-19?

  11. “Something about these times that makes smart people dumb and dumb people insane”, say it Morning Joe!

  12. If they don’t want to get the vaccine that is free and available. let them succumb to the virus
