As a senior on a basic pension l was just told l didn’t qualify for the $500 one time payment and although l live in a rent based on income apparently l made $355 over the $20,000 limit. Pretty much putting every senior in the country out of luck. Merry Christmas Mr. Trudeau, Thanks for nothing!🎅
The past year method is standard and does not take into account peoples current situation. It;s not fair, and I would like to see that approach changed across the board. Provincial and federal. It really hurts when you are the one that;s just over the mark. I believe that mark needs to be raised to between, 25 and 30,000 depending on the cost of renting in your local area. My rent is going up several hundred dollars end of lease. I have to find somewhere else to live that I can afford. Scary times.
My grandma qualified. Comes down to you either paying too much for rent or living above you means. So it comes down to your poor choices. Marry Christmas 🎄
