    1. I liked that he spoke to the young girl and gave her the pen. It is an important momento that she can hold dear to her heart, since she will grow up without her father. I wish to extend my gratitude to his family for his sacrifice to our country. Thank you!

    2. @Linda Freeman please! He’s hoping to score on that little girl. God knows his family have a DEEP affection for little girls.

    1. The irony this bill will never help veterans. Well done! U just gave million/billion of dollars to big corporation. SMH! 🤦

    2. @Ryan lex seriously asking, why won’t it help Veterans, how will enrich corporations and which ones. I’m missing something with my understanding of this BILL

  1. Refreshing to hear a President giving accolades to others and not himself! Thank you President Joe Biden!

  2. A well-spoken address by a sane and kind President who is encouraging and helps us feel better. No disparaging criticism of others. Oh, how we have need of such a leader.

    1. So I actually looked it up and it’s really 2 bills Obama signed the main one into law in 2014 and trump passed the mission act in 2018 when the Obama program was just about out of funding. Also trump kept mixing the names up cause he has a 4th grade education and can’t read (not picking on dislexic people I’m picking on 44) he told 216 lies mostly taking credit for Obama’s bill (shocking I know) and I could go on but I’m bored of this but i will say it’s interesting how little most people in this thread believe they know after I actually read a few acticles. And that kids is why you should stay in school and practice critical thinking.

  3. As far as I’m concerned, as a fellow veteran, whom God didn’t see fit to have me experience what some of my fellow veterans have, these news media outlets can take their approval ratings, and their polls and throw them in the same burn pits that this bill was made to protect veterans from. President Biden is honorable man, and Jon Stewart is one hell of a ally and supporter. In word and in action.

    1. 👍 x 1,000,000,000

As a fellow veteran, who like you didn’t experience what other veterans did, I agree 100% with your comment. Thanks for writing it.

  4. It was really sweet for President Biden to give the pen that signed this into law to the little girl who lost her father. It may be just a pen but in someway I hope it gives some comfort to her and her fathers memory is honored. It was a nice gesture and shows the kind of good man the President is.

    1. I was so happy to see that. My best friends sister was one of the organizers of this bill and Biden was talking to her Granddaughter.

    2. @Indiana Public Land How very cool! Tell her to hold onto that pen! It will be something tangible to show her own kids and grandkids when she tells them this story. Brightest Blessings to her and to you all.

  5. This nation seriously owes Jon Stewart and these insistant veterans and families a sincere debt of gratitude.

  6. I’m one of those veterans who was exposed to burn pits. We threw everything in there; tires, MRE trash (lots of plastic), paper, metals, fuel, old parts of anything (computes, vehicles, antennas), clothing..etc. I suffer from debilitating migraines and have shortness of breath. Have to use an inhaler. I’m overjoyed that I will benefit from this bill. Thank Jon Steward for fighting for us veterans. And thank you president Joe Biden for signing it into law.

    1. Thank you for your service. I hope this will help you to live a better life! You deserve and have earned it!

    2. Praying for you. Thanks for your service. The Military soldiers and their family make great sacrifice to serve this nation. We appreciate you.

  7. A reminder of how far we’ve come since 2020. An excellent reception and speech. A President to be proud of, regardless of any disappointments.

    2. @David Eby So you don’t love…is that because you have no heart or because no one wants to come near you?

  8. This is truly a great moment for president Biden. This is what a good president does: he cares and recognizes those who sacrifice the most for our country. Well done!

    1. @Ryan lex what? It’s money only for them. No one can touch it. It’s dealt out by Congress and in a fund that has been for years and is only dedicated to veterans. Stop spreading misinformation. Or at least get your facts straight before you speak.

    2. @Sid Ali Yep! The lies lead these people down the rabbit hole. Biden is ok. He did save us from trump so I’m happy enough with that. I’m super happy the Dems are finally getting things done! I was getting a little worried lol.

  9. Great talk. It’s great to hear you after being a kid who stuttered. You don’t talk about it much, but I know it’s a great accomplishment each and every time you speak. Having said that, I know this hits home for you as you lost your son as a result of these burn piles. Thanks to everyone who worked on this bill, and thank you for supporting it, and signing it into law.

    1. Derry Taylor LOL speaking from the heart? BIDEN? You have to have one first babe. You really do like swampland?

    2. Biden really is good at speaking from the heart. It’s so nice to have a president who shows human emotions and natural vulnerabilities. Meanwhile, the crooks are pleading the fifth. 🤣

  10. Beautiful. Thank you President Biden, thank you Jon Stewart, thank you to all who fought so hard and so well for justice. most of all, thank you to our troops. 💙

  11. As the son of a Marine, this was a powerful moment. I think people sometimes forget that in addition to this being personal for many, it is also personal for President Biden. He lost his son to this. He’s a far stronger man than I, since I’m not sure I would have been able to keep it together during that speech knowing I was about to sign something meant to help people with the same thing that took my child. Finally, I’d also like to acknowledge and thank all those people who were part of the public outcry that emerged when this bill first died in the Senate due to political machinations that are so far beneath our servicemembers and what they deserve. They refused to let it die, refused to let our servicemembers down, and got it done. Respect.

  12. Absolutely amazing! This is how a true President sounds likes. It’s about everyone else and he didn’t turn this to be about him!!
