Why Republicans should be worried about Iowa

Chuck Grassley has served as Iowa’s senator for a whopping seven terms, but new polling shows this tenure could be in jeopardy. In the latest episode of The Point, CNN’s Chris Cillizza digs into whether the Hawkeye State will actually part ways with its longstanding senator.

    1. @Gamersoldier100 you are absolutely right..I dont care if they are red or blue, just get the incompetent out of office

    1. @Chris Albert A wise man said: if you fear the change, you will have the fear and the change.

    2. I’d argue, he’s the poster boy for why term limits in built in to every “term” they serve. The need to be reelected usually keeps the Representative or Senate member working for their state. When the voters no longer feel they are being adequately represented, they vote him out. He will likely lose his next election and the people will replace him. Term limits is the proverbial trophy for those who would normally lose. They make up new rules to take out the winner…;)

    3. @William H Music 2021 …and yet, far more effective than any President in the last 20 years. He’s done far more than the last 3 Presidents in his first 150 days. I guess experience matters. Trump, Obama and Bush were all legislative rookies in comparison.

    4. @Susan Hewitt Or at least one who isn’t too egotistical to let smarter people manage him – one who actually exploits all of the power of AI instead of picking and choosing where and when to be “mysterious”. I mean, think about it. Not even Putin was smart enough to set us against each other – that took artificial intelligence to understand the nuances and to exploit Hitler’s and other dictator’s handbooks.

Trump’s ‘power’ isn’t just a modified version of Roy Cohn’s, although that’s a big part of it – his followers are the victims of not just Russian active measures, but probably Robert Mercer’s too. I mean, check out a couple of articles and then tell me you think I’m being crazy here. lol

    1. @SmokeStack Yeah… I watched the first assault on farmers under Reagan. It’s been downhill ever since.

  1. Grassley needs to go. He’s not a genuine elder; he’s just plain OLD! He has garnered no wisdom over his years. He just rooted his beliefs in greed & power over everyone else. Bye bye, Grassley!

    1. @Howie
PLEASE STOP BEING A COMPLETE IDIOT. IF YOU THINK BIDEN WHO HAD MAYBE 15 PEOPLE AT HIS “RALLIES” GOT 80 MILLION VOTES…YOU’RE NUTS! PRESIDENT TRUMP HAD 20,000 TO 40,000 AT EACH OF HIS RALLIES AND SOME DAYS HE HAD 2 RALLIES. THE CHEATING WAS RECORDED IN REAL TIME. THE CHINESE WERE DEFINITELY INVOLVED. THEY OWN BIDEN.

      BIDEN’S ACCOMPLISHMENTS..

Sometimes you must show the people. HYPERINFLATION. Real-world commodities in the past six months: • Oil has gone from $37.50/barrel to $63.50/barrel, a 70% move! • Lumber has gone from $500 to $1,500, a 200% move! (in six months!!) • Copper has jumped from $3.10 to $4.50, a 45% appreciation! • Coffee has soared from $100 to $143, a 43% gain! • Wheat has surged from $550 to $740, a 34% yield! Closed the Keystone pipeline down to help Warren Buffet while putting 40,000 skilled workers out of work. Beef and Chicken as well as many other grocery items have skyrocketed in price. Opened the border so the cartels can bring drugs back into the country along with gang members and human traffickers.
Hasn’t kept one single campaign promise.

    2. @Rod You’d happily change your mind about 78 being to old if Trump runs for president next election. If you were capable of thought you’d realize that.

  2. He’ll be 89 years old in November 2022. I hope I’m not being ageist but that is frickin’ old.

  3. Republicans should be worried about a lot of things we are exposing them left and right. They are getting weaker and we are getting stronger and soon trump and his family will be in prison and we can take down the rest of them and dismantle the Republican Party for good and move on with our new agenda.

    1. @Samuel Heavener so do you think that Trump is your Lord and Savior, the chosen one, and he has superpowers? Do you think he will call out the Jewish space lasers and enlist Marjorie Taylor Green to help him? Do you think Trump can make people rise from the dead like Jesus? You just can’t face the fact that Trump is a loser.

    2. @Samuel Heavener by forced him out you mean they asked him to leave after he lost? Because that’s how it works.

  4. Time for patriots in Iowa to actually be patriotic and vote for Democracy, that means not for fascists of the GOP.

    1. @Juan Fortharoad I didn’t live in town I lived in a rickety ol farmhouse with no insulation and shatred a bedroom with my older brothers until I was 16. Half the time we didn’t even have heat during the winter.

    2. @Brandon Angstman
Sometimes I think that people should experience that so they’d have an appreciation for what they have.

    3. @Shadow GuardI live in the USA but I can understand how you might be confused. You leftists do have a narrow view of Politics in general.

  5. Iowans soured on Grassley when he displayed unparalleled hypocrisy after the second impeachment of T8888. Grassley, who authored legislation protecting whistleblowers, was silent when Colonel Alexander Vindman and Gordan Sondland were fired for trying to tell America the truth about the Swampdaddy’s shady Ukraine shenanigans. He lost whatever credibility he had with those in the Hawkeye state.

    1. @Rod …trump supporters have as much appreciation for “facts” as chickens appreciate the texture of argyle socks…

    2. @Patton Moore OMG, Your random humorous analogy gave me such a Chuckle… I actually had a visual of a chicken, skinny legs and all, argyle Sox not able to stay pulled up. Clearly not getting sleep since the Pandemic began, is taking a toll on my cognitive dissonance, lol.

  6. 28% of Iowans polled said they want to see obstruction continue, hypocrisy continue, inaction continue? oh, boy.

    1. From Iowa, I could see Iowans feeling this way! They aren’t the friendliest and judgemental. I am not a Republican, everyone you see and talk too are bully their opinions on you. Very strong Republican state. Not saying all Republicans are like this but a lot more are. I am a Independent and I don’t always belive what I see and in the media. Thers are always two sides to a story. I can say how I feel without bullying people and see both sides. Not all agree which is their right and I will listen to others on their opinions. Both parties are not perfect.

    1. @Tavat That is just one portion of the platform of the Democratic party up into 1966. The Democrat party are the party of the KKK, Slavery, and FDR shot a anit-lynching bill down (FDR Democrat President) that the Republicans tried to push through. You people are so f ing blind and you just let it go over your heads and make excuses. Ok, so the Dems now have African Americans on their team, well so do the Republicans, in fact the first African Americans in DC were Republicans because the Democrats would not accept them so f off.

    2. @Tavat PS the reason it goes over your heads because the truth is, you want communism. Just admit it.

    3. @Tavat You point your fingers but don’t take a look at your own damned selves. You want communism, because you want everything for free and just handed to you.

    1. @Rod
Go back and read the transcripts of trumps speeches and then tell me who sounds more senile. Bing bing bong…person, woman, man, camera, tv.

  7. So many of us want him gone. He’s been grooming his GRANDSON to take over his seat because we are so dumb and will vote for a damn name.

  8. If the weather Patterns hold, Iowa should have a record Corn Crop.
Hopefully Iowa can come up with a good someone else.

  9. He’s been there more than my whole life and I have voted to get rid of him for a decade then I finally moved from Iowa. He’s a horrible human being.
