Toronto's city manager says elected officials were not aware taxpayers would be on the hook for all cost overruns to host World Cup games.

  1. The guy from Brock is spewing nonsense…. he assumes that somehow Toronto is desperate to host a few World Cup Games and couldn’t have said no.. I have no trouble saying no to this. I am shocked that bureaucrats were empowered to sign off on this without approval from City Council…. in any economic environment, but certainly when the city is already facing a huge deficit, and potholes everywhere. I care more about the shabby look of our pothole city streets than I do about having a few soccer games here

  2. This weekend Saturday May 13th and Sunday May 14th. I call on Canadians to gather NEAR their local Canadian Tires and we begin the protests. This has already occured in Barrie Ontario last week, and twitter is circulating another protest will occur in Oakville Ontario Canadian Tire 7pm this weekend Saturday May 13th.
