If he has 19 outstanding tickets, that should be enough points to suspend his license.
Do you think suspending his license will prevent him from driving? I don’t think so! I don’t know how the taxi system works in Jamaica but can’t passengers find legitimate, licensed cabs instead of these illegal taxis?
@CBJohn Under the new road traffic act, the penalties for driving without a license or insurance have been raised significantly so it should be more of a deterrent than it once was. As for your question about the taxi system, I haven’t taken a taxi in a long time and, when I only used licensed (red plate) taxis when I did. I suspect one reason people use illegal taxis is impatience. They don’t want to wait for the next red plate.
