Analysis: Why this attack ad might work against Fetterman

Republicans are attacking Democrat John Fetterman for being a hypocrite in a new ad in Pennsylvania's key Senate race. In this week's episode of The Point, Chris Cillizza breaks down how the ad is intended to be seen by voters and where the allegations come from. #CNN #Cillizza

  1. Pointing at someone and call him big ole hipocrit while being the GOP is somewhat of a weird concept of truth to me … we all like to drop this or that principle when it is convenient – but we are talking about icecream after 7pm here, not taking-hundreds-of-top-secret-documents-to-a-country-club level. Some here need to clean up their own house and stop trying to piss against the wind …

  2. So his attack is he’s poor while John attacks him for being an elite it’s obvious which one will work .

  3. Fetterman’s father, Karl, is a successful businessman and founder/owner of Kling Insurance in Pennsylvania .Pa., his parents financially supported him and his family for the entire 13 years he was mayor of Braddock — a part-time job that paid him just $150 a year — until he was sworn in as lieutenant governor in 2019 at the age of 49. In 2015 alone, his parents paid him a $54,000 salary.

    1. @Chuck Taylor But if you knew Fetterman, then you would know that it was NOT a 2-3 hr per week job. It was usually all day long, any time of day, 7 days per week. Yeah, his official duties as mayor may have been only for a few hours per week. But he made it a full time job and then some. If a resident’s house burnt down, he was there. Not for the cameras. To help. He was always there to help hours before the cameras showed up, and continued to help out for hours, days, or even weeks after the cameras left. That’s just one example.

    2. @The Majority Speaks John Fetterman was using Heroin, Meth and Other Hard Drugs he couldn’t work more than a couple hours a week.

  4. Being that he was a mayor, and still was mostly financially supported by his parents, makes me trust him more. Im sure he could have made some deals to put money in his pocket, but he focused on whats right for the community instead. This is what an uncorrupted politician looks like, being supported by family so he can do his job without biases.

    1. @Jon Stone
(CNN) — Democratic Senate candidate John Fetterman raised $22 million in the third quarter of 2022, according to the Pennsylvania lieutenant governor’s campaign, overshadowing what his Republican opponent, Mehmet Oz, said he raised over the same period.

    2. @Jon Stone Fetterman has now raised over $48 million this cycle. With 300k diffrend donators, most his money comes from big business.
Meanwhile Oz is compleetly self funded.. He is rich after all. Like literally everything shows signs of the opposite of what you claim.
Same goes for “Samba The HusQueen”.

  5. And Fetterman comeback will be yes I was broke, I am poor, and that’s not a sin unlike The new Jersey wannabe Pennsylvania citizen Oz.

    1. Carpetbagger Oz, knows nothing about Pennsylvania and it’s people. We will send him back to NJ in November!

  6. I love these videos, and I missed them when they went on hiatus or went underground or something. I watch on free YouTube because I live on my social security check. I would rate them if I had the option, and I would rate them very highly indeed.

  7. Don’t kid yourself (OZ) does anyone really want a tv doctor to run there lives. 🤔 That’s like having a ex football player deciding laws on women’s rights.

  8. “He’s ugly and his mother dresses him funny!”

“Which one are you talking about?”

    “Yes!”

  9. “We cannot be in a position where we elect people who will not fundamentally uphold the sanctity of elections. That’s got to be more important than anything else. … Do not give power to people who have told us that they will not honor elections.” – Rep. Liz Cheney, October 7, 2022

  10. Advertising what his opponents say about him is not helping Fetterman win. Oz has a Turkish citizenship and lives in NJ. That alone should deter PA voters. Vote for Fetterman!
