  1. I’m against abortion, but women should have the personal choice and right to make that personal decision only. Supreme Court, state, and politicians shouldn’t tell any woman what she can do with her body. I respect your religion, believe just don’t try to make others live by your beliefs

  2. Maybe the best way to legalize abortion is to make men responsible for any child they create. Starting with mandatory child care payments, for 18 years!

    1. @Emerald Forge BTW, I work with other medical professional women and even they only get 3 months FMLA to be with their child, not 6 months. And if they are a new employee less than 1 yr with the company, that’s 3 months UNPAID time off.

So if middle class women who are working professionals only get 3 months, why should a lower class woman get 6 months paid time off.

And again, if you aren’t financially ready for a baby, then take the necessary steps to ensure that it doesn’t happen.

Contrary to one of your “valid points”, Pregnancy is 100% preventable.

Let’s stick you on an island by yourself and see if you can miraculously get pregnant without a partner. I’m sure this entire forum would agree you can’t get pregnant they way.

The only time where I’d say pregnancy wouldn’t be 100% preventable is with rape. But thats a whole other topic to discuss if you want to go that route. I’m ready for that too cuz that involves crime. A much more serious topic than just pregnancy alone.

    2. @AMERICAN IN EXILE Right, because all women have a choice when it comes to intercourse and birth control is fool proof 😒

  3. Great job!! However, this can’t be the end. We must keep fighting until the rights under Roe are restored. This action is a step in the right direction, but so much more needs to be done. Vote blue 💙 💙

    1. @Nichole ❤’s Ecuador! fun fact: very few countries allow abortion fully. China and North Korea

    2. @Sailor Venus I don’t live in either country I live in the US but this uprising of the people will show the world

  4. “We the people are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution.”
    — Abraham Lincoln

  5. I’m a 58 year old Englishman and in England we try to live in the 21st century, there are parts of that that do not necessarily suit my lifestyle or indeed my tastes but I would never try to take away such basic rights from anyone of any sex, colour or religion. It does sound like your Republican party are trying to get back to the 19th century, do they want to become unelectable? I mean surely that was Trumps job. I think your President has got it right on this.

    1. @Uh Hubba Bubba The government telling people what they can and cannot do with their bodies is the definition of the govt gaining more power and getting bigger. Regardless of what your views are on abortion, if you are anti-big government as you claim, you would likely see how this recent scotus ruling is stripping away our individual freedoms. I guarantee that if this law applied to you and took away a personal liberty YOU cared about, you’d be singing a different tune.

    1. @The End sure. People have had an abortion, got arrested and been to trial in a month. Give it time, it will happen.

    2. To accept a presidential pardon, one must first admit guilt to the crime for which one was charged. Pardons are NOT the get-out-of-jail-for-free cards you seem to think they are. BTW, granting pardons willy-nilly, as you seem to suggest, would only cheapen the very concept of a pardon.

    3. @Darth Quantum “granting pardons willy-nilly, as you seem to suggest, would only cheapen the very concept of a pardon” You must think Trump has made them worthless then.

  6. Thank you Mr. President, I believe he took his time in order to do it right, make in comprehensive and cover all the bases. That’s a sign of good leadership which is what we really need in these times.

  7. I had an abortion procedure at 17 years old, and I’m thankful I had the ability to escape the abusive relationship. I tried to poison myself because I wasn’t old enough, and I was terrified to inform my parents of my mistake. I only made myself extremely sick, and later I had to finally inform my parents who fully supported me to terminate. I was a high school student in college. My parents were not financially capable of caring for a baby and supporting me with the costs to keep my ex from the baby. He physically and mentally abused me, which only escalated when I was pregnant. After over 10 weeks of being abused, I decided enough was enough. He threatened to kill me and stalked me every time I tried to leave him. After he attempted to hurt me with a weapon, I drove away from him and didn’t return. I terminated and that was the best decision I could’ve made in that awful situation.

    1. @Cyndi Ross I enjoy watching Sheldon Whitehouse outlining all of the dark money. He has maps and research that indicates where the money comes from. The issue is the deceptive practises like sick companies numbered companies. He lays it all out beautifully though. I also really enjoy Katie Porter. They are whip smart!

    2. @Hope Springs Charmed! It’s good to hear some sanity in the midst of the ignorant, cruel attacks. Now we need to make sure that none of this nonsense spreads North! Take care!

  8. One body is inviolable, subject to ones own will alone. Thank you, Mr. President, for protecting women’s privacy and taking a stand for liberty and human autonomy.

    1. @Ryan Elliott If this comment doesn’t show up, so help me god. A woman is a human female with xx chromosomes. What’s your definition?

    2. @drf81 Your comment isn’t showing up when people want to view all comments in this post. Not sure why I can see it though. Also not sure this comment will even show. YT can suck it at this point.

    3. @Zippy 🎀 same as yours.
Omg you still live in Cali?! Gtfo out, what are you doing? I left 2 years ago best decision of my life. That place is a shizshow.

  9. Thank you, Mr.President.
Now do us all a favor and expand the Supreme Court.
We need more public defenders on the bench.
    You can do this.
And if you do, we will stop this march towards theocracy.

    1. @GuardtheHam hey dude, don’t complain about your gas prices…at the moment here in Australia it is currently running at $7.70per US gallon. How does that compare to your local price?

    2. @nola smith Men. Boo hoo. Poor me about a subject that really THEY HAVE NO RIGHT HAVING ANY SAY IN ALL ALL. Typical.

    1. @Lea Garner someone with morals, who understands science and logic and who isn’t a narcissistic zealot!

  10. That story about the 10-year-old is insanity. When a state’s law does not allow an exception for a 10-year-old that is pregnant, that is when you should obviously rethink your policy.

    1. @Scott Ryder only it’s not, it’s been verified by multiple sources as well as the doctor in Indiana who performed it!

  11. It’s so empowering knowing we have a president that is for the people and looking out for the countries best interests.

    1. @keylimepie1234 and yet 78% of Americans support giving women the right to choose. Do you seriously think forcing a minority opinion on the majority is democracy?

    2. @Dawn Brown yeah giving $40 billion to Ukraine while Americans can barely afford to buy a loaf of bread. Real strong leader pal

  12. Yes! Thank you for thinking of all of us women and girls facing such a difficult decision where it shouldn’t involve anyone but a woman and her doctor.

    1. Men …

Let woman do what they want.

So when we all die and go to heaven and God ask us men..why where yall aborting babies??

Yall? I think we all know who had the decision in that. Lol

      -Andrew Schulz

  13. I can imagine how the 10 year old feels. I was 14 when I was raped when I had to stay with extended family one weekend. I weighed about 85 pounds and would not have lived through it. Can you imagine what it feels like going to school pregnant as a kid? Hoping nobody finds out. Missing school and having to repeat a class because the teacher wouldn’t accept your make up work? Not being able to tell the mean teacher why you missed her class? Having to travel hundreds of miles for a procedure? I can because I lived it. Abortion is illegal now in my state and we don’t have Medicaid expansion. I have a friend that had to remove her own expired implant because we don’t have insurance or planned parenthood services. My daughter has an expired implant right now that she can’t afford to deal with.

  14. It’s good to see he’s doing whatever he can to prevent the repercussions of the horrible court descisions.

    1. @Rose Nelzor Little did you know that people that were in the decision to overturn roe v wade people actually supported it.

  15. 6:46 that’s the most emotion I’ve seen from him. He looks so angry. I feel… seen? I don’t know. It might be fake, but even if it is, the fact that they see it and see that it’s wrong makes me hopeful. I hope this speech works and people go out and try to help.

    1. He does look angry – as he should be. I’m furious – and I have no personal issues because I’m beyond child-bearing years. To criminalize a doctor who does an abortion on a 10 year old rape victim is pure insanity.

Do the Republicans think ANY ONE OF US will vote for them in November? Are they trying to be thrown out of office? Because they will be after this.

    2. @Deborah Jeanne I am exactly the same way. I am still so pissed I can’t see straight. My only child is 30 and just got married in May. So this is not a “personal” worry for me at this time. I live in the best state in the country for protecting women’s rights. But this could be only the first steps. They will go farther if not stopped. Then that same daughter is getting in her car to go home and is raped but now abortion is against the law in the United States. It’s personal. I am a woman. It’s damn personal!

    3. @LOVEDC4EVER! seriously GF, we’re going back to the fking Dark Ages. I’m in NY – close to where Susan B Anthony made her mark in history. She must be rolling over in her grave right now. If Republicans want to win this year, they’re going to have to take away women’s right to vote. Good luck with that.

You know what pisses me off the most? How many men have not one f-ing shred of empathy for that 10 year old. They are still applauding the rights of the fetus – something that can’t live on it’s own. They would rather have this baby deliver a baby than get an abortion. And I still say if men could get pregnant, we would not be having this discussion.

If men had morning sickness all day long, if they peed every 20 minutes because the head was pressing on their bladder, or had outrageous heart burn because a foot was pushing their stomach into their chest, if they had varicose veins, gestational diabetes, pre-eclampsia, gestational hypertension, if they couldn’t get out of bed because they were so damn tired but have to anyway so they can go to work or care for other children, we would not be discussing this.

I dare any man who has a 10 year old that was raped and pregnant to still say abortion is out of the question as he watches his little girl get fatter with each day and puke her guts out every morning. I dare them to say they would welcome that baby with open arms at the expense of his own daughter’s health and welfare – and I haven’t even touched on the mental anguish of that little girl.
