  1. He didn’t say that the Ukrainians could not achieve a military victory against Russia. What he stated very clearly is that victory will not be achieved SOON. Which is totally different. It implies exactly the opposite of what she wrongly interpreted. It means they will be able to achieve victory but not in the near future.

    1. Ukraine will never be the same territorially. They cannot kick out Russia, especially because you have Russian ethnic majority in areas that want independence from Kyiv and have been recognized. Same with Crimea being annexed, the people want it. These facts are kept out of western controlled media because it paints a different picture. This situation will only benefit profiteers of the war with military-industrial complex and the black market. Zelenskyy should negotiate and follow Minsk agreements and that’s it. But the west making it out be like Putin wants old USSR or take over Europe and other nonsense makes people stupid. All you hear about is Russian losses, what about Ukrainian losses? Which according to many are quite significant and they are losing, but the controlled media avoids because the reality is this war is impossible for Ukraine. The best thing is to stop now and negotiate.

    2. Are you ready? The kingdom of Heaven is at hand, repent, receive and confess Jesus Christ as your personal saviour and Lord and you shall be saved! Time is short. This is the time to wake up and be born of God. Tomorrow is not guaranteed. Jesus is coming! You may check out of this world at any time. Jesus loves you. Get ready! Jesus is King! Shalom

  2. Poppy left out “any time soon” when she said General Milley said “It is not likely that Ukraine will achieve an outright victory over Russia”.
Leaving out those extra words changes the meaning of Milley’s statement. He talked about “the next few weeks” as what he meant by “soon”.
Kylie Atwood likewise completely twisted General Milley’s words. He didn’t call for Ukraine to negotiate now, nor imply they should give up any part of what he referred to “victory”, kicking Russia completely out of Ukraine, including Crimea. His comment about negotiation was just an aside relative to what he was saying about military victory “in the next few weeks”. He only mentioned what might happen through negotiation to differentiate it from his area of concern: military victory.

    2. Russia’s published economic figures for September 22 they admit, -5% GDP year on year with a -9.8% in retail sales.
The truth is probably worse as they’ve stopped publishing.
The mobilisation chaos meant it suddenly losing the most mobile part of the workforce.

    3. @Douglas Reid copy and paste get you no where. It only shows us how little you know. Here is a fact everyone missed, the week after Russia pledged oil to Ruble, 3 senior Russian bankers supporting the pledge and their entire families committed suicide in three different countries within 3 days. Who did this? Wanna take a guess?

    4. In 2003, I couldn’t believe how most Americans would fall for the lies about WMDs and support the US invasion of Iraq. I’m no longer surprised at how so many Americans and Europeans now believe that Ukraine can actually militarily push the Russians out of all of Ukrainian territory pre-2014. Gore Vidal was right, USA stands for the “United States of Amnesia”. I can just see how 1 year from now, most Americans will have forgotten that they actually believed that Ukraine can actually push the Russians out of the ethnically Russian Eastern Ukrainian territory that they currently hold which includes Crimea as of 11/18/2022.

    5. @weaf27 just like the whole ‘ unprovoked’ war sounds more interesting that after many provocations and ignoring of Russia security threats. North Korea firing rockets and threatening US sounds more interesting that NK firing in response to US once again breaching the agreements of no fly zones etc.

  3. This general thinks correctly, but his point of view is severely limited. We Ukrainians know better the whole political situation inside Russia and Ukraine. There will be no political decisions with Russia on the withdrawal of Russian troops. It’s impossible. If Putin orders the troops to withdraw, a revolution will begin in Russia, just like in 1917. Putin and his pack of thieves and bandits understand this. From Ukraine’s point of view, we will not allow a frozen conflict. We learned the lesson of history very well, as was the case with the Chechen war. Russia will gather new forces and attack again, it’s only a matter of time. Ukrainian society is not ready to pass on the burden of war to the next generation. We will end this war here and now so that our children and grandchildren do not have to fight in the future. We will do this with the support of the world, or without it.

    1. @Sadestoniaball Right, without u.s and rest of world support Ukraine would not be able to defend itself after a month.

    2. @BZD37 your comments seemed like you ok with Russia thugs killing innocent Ukraine civilians and destroying their residential infrastructure? Russia BOT

    3. @David Glickman Do not be confused they will not be able to push out Putyin`s army. ukraine actually dying and this is what they deserve.

  4. As Milley once stated: ‘In Ukraine, we are learning the lesson that the aggression left unanswered only emboldens the aggressor’.

    1. @Khaya 727 Funny how so many are concerned about the cost of this particular war when so many countries, this time, are helping paying the bill. And being more concerned about the ruin of Ukraine than the Ukrainians themselves. If Germany had been stopped in the late 1930s, it would have saved a lot of money and ruins and dead. Of course, at this point in time, Putin would love “The West” to encourage the Ukrainians to settle, to give him a chance to rebuild his strength and start all over in a better position (which would cost far more).

    2. @Antoine de Biran NATO is a *defensive* treaty pact. Furthermore, the fact that there is already a NATO presence along part of Russian borders in the Baltic adds little weight to this claim of Russia’s actions being a response to NATO, rather the opposite.

Also let’s not forget this is more to do with trade deals. Regarding the Euromaidan in late ’13 early ’14, the facts have been conveniently muddied to align with Kremlin narrative of a so-called ‘US-led coup’. It was actually a popular protest by the people based on the (at the time) Russian-aligned leadership swaying away from the EU and leaning towards preference of stronger Russian trade partnership instead.

It’s quite simple – Russia (like any superpower) prefer stronger influence. Russia use a similar playbook to the US – Except they are even less bashful about waving the big stick to beat upon whoever they see is in their way – If, that is, they think that they can get away with it.

    4. @Voice7Marie All you need is the profoundest realizing in relation to the fact, which is as follows. The ape given a creative function of the brain by evolution has acquired a strong belief in its sanctity and exclusive originality, which in turn, as deemed, provides it with the right to do what it will on the third planet from the star called the Sun in the Milky Way Galaxy. One’s ignorant imagination and faith insistently imposed on others interfere with contemplating the truth that appears to be simple. Any human being is solely a creature producing a terribly and disgustingly stinking substance approximately 365×80 times during its existence. So, the following question is arising. Can such a creature be saintly or exclusively original? With this in mind, one may find it appropriate to deduce that the wolf has not invented a gas chamber and the lion has not masterminded techniques of torture. All that has been done by representatives of the human race due to the creative function of the brain.

  5. This general said the Russian casualties are classified which I would say it’s not cause there’s alot of other news agencies that shows casualties/injury reports may not be exact numbers but they are close as u can get during an active war

    1. To put it in simple terms, sports are based on human warfare. Offensive, defensive, winners and losers. Victory or defeat.

    2. A football coach who uses SI units … sounds more like football football than what 🇺🇸ans call football?

    1. The dude said it clearly, idk if these people can’t listen or wtf is going on, “anytime SOON” mean it’s unlikely that it will happen anytime soon, which means long term, 1, 2, 3+ years it might be more likely…. But what do i know, idk how the hell these people pass basic math tests when they can’t understand a basic speech.

  6. I really like General Milley. We need more level-headed, no-nonsense people like him in the upper levels of government.

  7. Excellent summary of the situation when the general stated something like “the probability of Ukraine kicking out Russia from Ukraine militarily, anytime soon, is not high”. He was very careful with his words when stating that. Then at 3 minute mark the journalist comes in for summary: “general said that it is not likely that Ukraine will achieve an outright military victory against Russia”. Those sentences mean very different things. The general meant that any potential total victory against Russia inside Ukraine would take some time. It cannot be achieved fast. He did not say that it cannot be done, or that it even is improbable.

    1. @henli1000That’s some selective hearing you got there. The general also said it was impossible for Russia to outright invade and take over Ukraine.

    2. Ukraine will never be the same territorially. They cannot kick out Russia, especially because you have Russian ethnic majority in areas that want independence from Kyiv and have been recognized. Same with Crimea being annexed, the people want it. These facts are kept out of western controlled media because it paints a different picture. 3. @ANdy Incorrect. You can walk into a burger joint and judge inflation right away in Moscow. You can’t lie about economy, everything else you can assume to be fake. You have to realize that military propaganda can go from years of victory to defeat overnight, like in Afgan. Change in message is a big deal. What Miley says is likely just the tip of the iceberg, trying to break you in gently after months of propaganda. When military does this, it usually means they are about to bail.

    4. @henli1000 Meanwhile their people are panicking, their shelves are empty of Western products, and their fast food chains meant to replace Western ones have already collapsed. Totes not evidence LOL

They can’t even make missiles anymore LOL

  8. The general said that it is not likely that Ukraine can kick Russia out of Ukraine “any time soon”. He didn’t say that Ukraine couldn’t do it, for example, in six months or in a year or two.

    1. Sure. They can make mistakes too. Like how an economist can make a mistake. But then they reevaluate the situation and come up with some opinions. If a famous economist was wrong about something it does not mean he will be wrong about everything and we just need to listen to ordinary people. 😀

    2. @Björn Lundahl TBF, if Russia had launched an operation on the scale of say Chechnya, as we though they would, where the goal was literally push your force forward dig in and crush them with artillery until there is nothing left, it would have been over in around a month. That’s the capability of the Russian military at it’s most ruthless and brutal. Similar to the US military. It depends on how you decide to fight. Russia decided against Total War as we thought they would and limited themselves as they believed there wouldn’t be a need to fight in totality.

That’s what the US generals got wrong, how Russia would conduct the war, not what they were/are capable of. The media is still underestimating the utter destructive capabilities of the Russian military.

This would be like looking to Afghanistan as a measure of the night of the US military. It’s wholly misleading. The way we fought in Afghanistan was not in totality. We could wipe the country from existence with artillery and air power if we felt like it.

Ukraine will never win militarily. They can hope to

      1. Outlast. Turn their country into Afghanistan
      2. Negotiate

In 6 months, there most likely won’t be a Ukraine and Zalensky will probably be dead. Russia is gearing up for waging Total War, against which Ukraine cannot hope to survive.

    3. And yes, if there wasn’t huge USA military aid, Ukraine possibly would have been occupied by now. Maybe his evaluation was not considering foreign aide. 😀

    4. @JAMX But Russian Air Force doesn’t seem very active in Ukraine and the door is not closed for Russia to do all those things as you are mentioning.

    5. “any time soon” doesn’t mean a “few weeks” – it means our life time. Write this in your diary or calendar to check back on 11/18/2023, 2024, 2025, etc. to verify.

  9. I swear these people are being deliberately obtuse. Anyone who’s actually listening to Milley understands there is no conflicting messaging going on here.

    1. @The Pathfinder No, the general was giving the average American a quick explanation on what was going on over there. He was in no way advising anyone. Generals advise presidents and leaders of other nations behind closed doors where you and me can’t hear them.
The summary is as follows in this order.
      Russia can’t take Ukraine.
A quick list of were Russians are suffering the most.
A reminder that Russia just mobilized.
Ukraine can’t kick Russian out anytime soon using the military.
A quick definition of what total victory means and it will take to end the war.
The only chance for a quick ending would be a diplomatic victory. Victory as in Russia out of all of Ukraine.
You think Russia is ready to toss in the towel and stop fighting.
He was saying buckle up. This ride is far from over.

    2. @Darren Brians All wars end at the bargaining table. And the general didn’t say to immediately negotiate with them. Ukraine’s position is currently that they will not negotiate until Russia is out of all Ukrainian soil, including Crimea. But like any other promise, that can change if Russia suddenly starts reversing its losses and Ukraine can’t continue.
You don’t need to tell the Ukrainians how untrustworthy the Russians are. There is a possibility that there could be more trust if there is a 1917 style revolution that throws Putin out. Miley was careful to couch all his statements and avoid specifics, with admissions that the situation could drastically change later.

    3. @Christabel Manasseh Do you live in fantasy land where Russia DID NOT build fortifications all the way to Crimea because they know they can’t hold on for much longer?

    4. @Native Spirit The Russian military expo of 2022 was a massive failure. It brought in 2 countries. Random shoppers don’t count or else those same 35 (37-2) countries are double traitors because they constantly shop American too.

Oh, and whataboutism doesn’t justify the atrocities Russia is committing.

  10. This was clear from the start, that negotiation was going to be the only safe way out of this. Kherson city was not won, but abandoned. It’s loss didn’t weaken the Russians. You can even argue it strengthened them as they averted potential losses at the same time positioning themselves to inflict greater harm to Ukraine from a safer position in the fortified east. Lying or exaggerating the loses or pain of the Russians doesn’t make it true or weaken them, it just confuses people. When at the same time admitting Ukraine will never win ultimately, but continue to insist every day that the Russians are suffering unimaginable losses and are being pushed back every week! If that’s true Ukraine will win.
But of course, it’s not true? Exaggerating information doesn’t win wars, only loses you credibility. Ukraine is in trouble so is all of NATO now running out of ammo and ideas. Russia just has to continue to hold on, and keep the same pace. This war of attrition will not only destroy Ukraine but the collective west if it continues. No amount of propaganda or spin will change that fact. Putin rating is higher than any western leader can boast of Russian people are overwhelmingly behind their leader

  11. Milley is an excellent example of how a leader should address speculative questions regarding complex topics. I respect this man very greatly for this and other things he has done for his country.

  12. Confusion and keeping the adversaries and strategic partners guessing is essentially a strategy. Enjoy the show y’all.

  13. Surely the VERY BEST summary since the beginning of this thing in Ukraine by any journalist, analyst, specialist, politician and others. No bias. This could be told to and agreed by any country looking at the situation. Only straight forward information on what is REASONNABLE to expect as an outcome, with distinct perspectives from the military to the politically. Thank you from everyone sir.

    1. No bias? Do a search for Scott Ritter or Doug MacGregor and get some different perspectives. Wait a few years or a decade and revisit to see who was right. It’s been almost 2 decades since the US invaded Iraq in 2003 on the excuse of WMDs. Who turned out to be right? The US government / media or Iraq? A “mistake” or crime that cost how many $trillions and human lives? Has any of the war crime perpetrators been brought to trial and punished for their crimes?

  14. General Milly is a man’s man who deserves the utmost respect. All those ribbons were hard earned. Thank you General Sir 🙏

  15. What this general is telling you is that at the end of the day Russia has infinitely greater resources than can be provided to Ukraine. Russia is going to win, period. Conflict still has years to go but eventually both sides will come to the negotiation table, and Ukraine will have to make concessions as Russia will hold many more leverages.
