Do Democrats Keep Falling For It? GOP Squashes Manchin’s Compromise

“Time is one of the most powerful tools that Republicans have right now—wasting time is one of the best things they can do to block Joe Biden’s agenda from being enacted into law. And it’s really critically important that Democrats stop falling for it,” says Indivisible’s Meagan Hatcher-Mays.

  1. “Stacy Abrams supports it, so it’s the Stacy Abrams compromise.”
This doesn’t reek of racism at all, does it?

    1. Evil Jawa exactly. Why even bring up her name? Funny how they singled her out from the other Democrats.

    2. @rebna36
They know what she did in GA —bypassed the legislature to change election laws and rig the election for no brain Biden

    1. @mark Mierzejewski you know, I would have said there was Zero reason for any American to vote for Donald Trump in the 2020 election after all the crap he had done but then… like you said, stupidity…🙄

    2. @deningman exactly! It’s more performative nonsense from the party that has nothing to offer policy-wise. Just bread and circuses, Dr Seuss and mr. Potato Head.

    3. 2016 the nation has no grasp to what extent how terrible Trump would be to this nation.

5 years later .. this nation knows better that Trump is politically dead weight.
Think about it .. Trump cant even use social media .. let alone care enough to keep his joke of a blog going.

Because its all about pandering to the mass’s ..
Trumps numbers today are lower then they were on Jan 6th..
Throw in the dozen or so legal cases against him. Toss in what we dont even know yet.
There becomes a point when it no longer is viable to take on Trumps legal problems as political problems..
For a political party that has shrank and now uses this election loss as a guise to further stifle elections as a whole because its a numbers game they can not win morally ..
So here we are nearly half way through the year with nothing that the GoP has to show for.
      No support in Covid Relief
No support in investigation the Insurrection .
As it stands .. the GoP Is a shell of a party that stands in the way of any meaningful change or progress all to support a former President
Who at best .. was a meme .. a social experiment … that profoundly failed.

I can all but assure you there is no Trump 2024

    4. @DoSe420 lol…most people who hire look for people with experience. Ignorant is not understanding that this is their First audit!! No one with a brain requires a PhD to count votes but someone with experience in that area would be preferable. Clearly you have no idea what Resumes and CV’s are for?! Wow! I guess you are one of the few that can walk in to leadership in any industry and provide value??😂 Could have gotten an experienced company because it is so important for some! But when people settle for whatever then no need right! Anybody can do it!👍🤣

    1. @DoSe420 – We need to remove control of the state over the national election of the president. That just makes sense

    2. @Bat Boy so you like billionaires having our politicians in their pockets. Like how Koch has Manchin

    3. @Bat Boy no it don’t. The USA will never be ran like a dictatorship. No senate rule changes, no court packing, no federal election laws.

Quit trying to change the rules to force your will onto people. Get the required support just like every single other senate has had to do.

  2. At this time, if Joe Manchin’s name is on anything . . . it’s just for publicity’s sake. He’s not seriously trying to promote anything except his own name. Been pretty effective at doing that too. He’s a real DINO.

    1. What’s funny is I can’t tell if you are this uninformed, or trying to spread propaganda.

Any bill that the media or democrats keep trying to make a big deal about with machin. Is just pointless.

You need 60 votes to pass a law, you’re about 10 short. No republicans, no bills passed.

Democrats trying to pressure manchin to change the filibuster, so they can make the Senate 51 votes to pass.

Machin is stopping democrats from becoming dictators and changing the rules to do what they want. Get the 60 votes like every other senate had to.

    2. @DoSe420 You were going so good up until that last bit…

The Republican’s already changed the rules… they made it so that the Filibuster wouldn’t apply to the ONE thing they wanted to do (Ramming through Judges). Then left the rest of the filibuster intact because the Dems would hesitate to break it more.

It seems to be paying off for them.

  3. I keep saying they don’t care about the less fortunate, we voted for helping the people it’s not about them, I live in a senior apartment and it’s not good seeing and hearing there pain and frustration.

    1. Actually yes, Trump is a RINO

He swapped political parties 5 times just to fit in

Thankfully thought Donald J Trump isn’t wanted let alone any hopes of Trump 2024

    2. @mark Mierzejewski Seems like we thought the same thing in 2016. Besides, even if Trump isn’t around, say jail maybe, what if someone just as evil, but with a brain, and Congress in Republican hands, a DOJ that thinks it can’t touch a President while in office, and the Supreme Court packed with Gop justices ? I realize that’s a perfect storm, but have you looked at the sky lately? Not exactly sunny days. I recently turned 61. Next year I get SS,and I’ve lived on my sailboat for the last 14 years. I’m coasting out in the Keys, or maybe further into the Caribbean. Sorta depends on which way it goes. Hopefully, mail in voting will be a thing. If not? Best of luck to Y’all. 4. To many fossils in Washington, time to be put out to grass and replace with a younger generation who are in step with today’s problems

    1. Just like the democrats didn’t give the republicans any support you act like this is only one sided it’s not OK the democrats stonewalled for 4 years stop playing games and tell the hole story ,you people are Ridiculous. Does the BS ever end with you dems. I mean come on

    2. Younger generation such as Josh Hawley or maybe MTG or maybe Lauren bobert. That’s downright scary.

    1. You will never get rid of dark money out of politics the Republican party thrive on it Trump and money equals dictator

  5. Manchin and Sinema are the best gifts McConnell could have asked for as a minority leader, complete tools.

    1. Dumb people are the best gift for the democrat party. It takes 60 votes in the Senate to pass, you’re about 10 votes short with every single democrat vote.

    2. Joe Mansions can’t even get one Republican to compromise with the Democrats to support the voting rights bill so it’s time for him to drop that BS “bipartisan” excuse in order to pass the voting rights bill! He has been saying for the last decade that he would get “bipartisan” support for bills that the Democrats wanted to pass, but he has never once achieved such support from the Republicans so it’s time for him to quit using that excuse to hold the Democrats back! Either get 10 Republicans to play your “bipartisan” game within the next week or help your Democratic colleagues pass the voting rights bill so that the Republicans can’t rig the elections their way and block minorities from voting forever!

    1. Maaaate, what are trying to do; Reintroduce Democracy you communist? Corporations have bought and paid for their right to buy your politicians.

  6. You’re an interesting species. An interesting mix. You’re capable of such beautiful dreams, and such horrible nightmares. You feel so lost, so cut off, so alone, only you’re not. See, in all our searching, the only thing we’ve found that makes the emptiness bearable, is each other…

  7. The ‘Day of the Rat’ is coming with a sordid account of major criminal activity conducted by the Trump Org…
In the coming weeks/months we are going to hear these two words a lot – ‘Inflate & Deflate’…

  8. Charlie Brown Manchin is in it purely for himself—-not for America, not for democracy, not for the American people, not for the Senate, not for bipartisanship, not for the Democratic party, and certainly not for his constituents. Essentially, he’s no different than the corrupt Republicans bringing our nation down.

    1. You have it backwards. If he votes FOR this atrocity, he is not for America, certainly not his constituents.

  9. They’re scared of Stacey because Stacey get things done and they the Republican party know it

  10. I love this lady’s voice. Why doesn’t someone actually just ask Manchin if he heard Mcconnell say all he wants to do, is block everything, like he’s done for 30 years

  11. The gop has defined themselves as the “anti support to the Biden administration”. What part of this do the democrats not believe???
It goes back to this concept: when someone shows you who they are, BELIEVE them.

    1. I think you meant to say something about the Constitution. Should read it, state rights are a pretty big deal in the law of the land.

  12. WHERE IS THE NEWS ON YOUTUBE THAT TRUMP ADMITTED TO HANNITY HE LOST THE ELECTION? Yes i am screaming.

  13. Manchin has been selling out the Biden Administration’s agenda. He needs to be dealt with accordingly.
