The quick way to get rid of pandemic restrictions and be free of this mess is for us all to get vaccinated. But to quote Strother Martin, “What we have here is a failure to communicate! Some people, you just can’t reach.
While I love a good cool hand luke reference, I have to add that it’s probably too late for mass vaccination to allow safe removal of distancing and masking practices. Given the mutagenesis the virus has now demonstrated and the limited effectiveness of vaccines in preventing disease altogether. Vaccines are far better at preventing significant or serious disease and symptoms than they are in preventing infection.
sars-cov-2 and it’s progeny are here amongst us to stay and so should the precautions, if for no other reason than to reduce chances of more serious mutations.
