Hits and misses from Joe Biden’s speech to Congress

President Joe Biden’s speech to a joint session of Congress made history before it even started, with two women on the dias, with Vice President Kamala Harris and Nancy Pelosi as the second- and third-in-line to the presidency. CNN’s Chris Cillizza talks through his hits and misses from Biden’s speech — outlining which moments mattered most and why.

    1. Missed due to work. However, I agree with the “Build Back Better” slogan. He should have said, “Build back bolder.”

    1. @Josh Greer the world has been laughing at woke america for years and now that we know biden is gonna be issuing far left policies, the world is gonna sit back and watch for a good laugh

    1. It’s not like we have been trying to cure cancer for 70 years with trillions in dollars towards cancer research.

    2. @DrMemes you’re somewhat correct…..we have been trying to cure cancer. Sadly there’s no money in a cure only in endless treatment. I think they have the cure already….who knows maybe during the Biden/Harris administration they will make it public. The way he talks about it makes you wonder if he knows something we dont.

    3. That scared the hell out of me. We all know they have a cure for cancer but it’s more profitable to treat it than cure it. Biden and Gates will team up to save the world from cancer…after they’ve destroyed it with COVID.

    4. Inovio has cured cancer and that’s what this was all about. Ino-3107 the cure for cancer came during the ” pandemic “

  1. JB: I’m with you guys, I’m not some powerful overlord, *now stay in your homes and don’t try to breach the iron curtain around DC*

    1. @Bill Walsh kinda like when you cried for 4 years along with the Left Wing media after Trump beat poor Rich Hillary

    2. Hahah what a bunch of amateur trolls 😒 nice insults.. But your daddy taught yall better … Y’all disappointing me

    3. @Kevin Holdorff You’re right, Trump never told anyone to inject disinfectant. But he wondered aloud on national TV at one of his Covid briefings if people could.

    1. Possibly because no westerner is used to that method of greeting.
How many Americans knew how to ‘click’ their heels like the Prussian elite used to do?
How’d you fancy the French ‘air kiss’ to both cheeks?
Or give a quick bow from the waist like the Japanese and Chinese, or rub noses like Maoris do?
I’ll bet you’d feel a helluva lot more awkward trying to ‘rub noses’ as the Esquimaux do!

  2. i am just glad that Nancy and Kamilla wore masks the whole time, imagine having to look at those faces for an hour

  3. Biden said in his address last night:
“We can’t just build back better, we have to build back better…..”
    🤯 Riveting stuff..

    1. @Bill Walsh It couldn’t be more obvious that you avoided my question.. Deflecting instead of bringing valid points to the conversation.

  4. I liked the part where after the had all been socially distancing, as well as barely having anyone there, they all got into a nice little huddle and got really close to each other.

  5. The “socially acceptable” elbow bump, which followed immediately after the socially forbidden hand clasp.

  6. The one thing that stood out to me was Cruz dozing off during the speech. Almost as if he just tuned President Biden out and
    took a nap.

    1. Lots of people on edge about our embarrassing president. Laughter helps, but in the morning we still have Joe being drug around like a rag doll by his handlers and not even knowing where he is. Real sad.

    2. @Mister Hat Knee jerkers seem to want to compare. I suppose that’s a way to deflect that we now have a demented person in the White House that can’t form a complete sentence and is responsible for crushing inflation and a humanitarian crisis at our southern boarder. There’s just no hiding that. The entire world sees it. Just like I stated-Really Sad.

  7. Actions speak louder than words. Don’t talk about it, be about it! Words politicians and the like should follow.

  8. With the “build back better” line, I caught that too … but he corrected it as he was saying it. If you listen to it again, he says, “We can’t just build back better … build back … we have to build back better.” This was kind of clumsy and likely went unnoticed by a lot of people but I think he meant to say, “We can’t just build back … we have to build back better.” Listen to it again.

  9. I so happy about the elbow bump. The hair stood up on my neck when I saw it! That was the greatest part of the speech ,your right !

  10. 0:30 – 0:36
Really, the “elbow bump” is the 1 number one hit from Joe Biden’s speech. 😂😂😂 I think I agree, that was the most relevant thing in the entire video.
