Infectious Disease Expert's Plan To Crush Coronavirus In 10 Weeks | The 11th Hour | MSNBC

  1. Trump appointed Pence at the man in charge, Which is a joke since both of them are incompetent as can be.

    1. @thtbest5k4t3 This whole pandemic shows how incompetent they are . If you need anything more then you are too stupid to learn Also Pence as governor cancelled the needle exchange program in Indiana and of course aids went way up. he backtracked buy of course that did not help those already affected

  2. Trump said that COVID-19  “came out of nowhere” and “blindsided the world.”  His comments left scientists, doctors, and national security experts in a state of disbelief. Experts had been warning about the next pandemic for years and criticized Trump’s decision in 2018 to dismantle a National Security Council directorate at the White House, charged with preparing for WHEN, NOT if, another pandemic would hit the nation..

When you don’t have an office like that, you don’t have dedicated people inside the White House who are ensuring that information is acted upon. When you see an outbreak in a place like China, you want people in the White House who are thinking about what needs to be done right away so that you don’t get behind the curve, which is what happened in this White House.

Trump’s elimination of the office suggested, along with his proposed budget cuts for the CDC, that he did not see or comprehend the threat of pandemics.

“One year later I was mystified when the White House dissolved the office, leaving the country less prepared for pandemics like COVID-19,” Beth Cameron, the first director of the unit, wrote in an op-ed. She said the directorate was set up to be the “smoke alarm” and get ahead of emergencies and sound a warning at the earliest sign of fire — “all with the goal of avoiding a six-alarm fire.”

Public-health experts have stated that Trump’s early efforts to downplay the threat of the virus robbed the US of valuable time needed to prepare for what is now a pandemic — potentially costing thousands of lives..

Trump spent “two months of completely ignoring every bit of scientific advice,” Dr. Ashish Jha, the director of the Harvard Global Health Institute stated in mid-March. “We’ve wasted two months. And this is not a disease where you’re allowed to waste two months.”

Jha, who received his doctorate in medicine from Harvard Medical school, criticized Trump for telling Americans that everything was “under control” when it was very clear to anybody paying attention that it was not under control.”

“I don’t use these words lightly, and it’s incredibly painful for me to say it,” he said, adding: “The cost of all of this is that tens of thousands of Americans are going to die unnecessarily.” He went on to say: “It was wholly preventable, and not just preventable in hindsight — it was preventable in foresight. Everybody said this is how it was going to play out if they didn’t act.”

    1. @humboldthammer I present HARD EVIDENCE as proof we have people looking into EVERYTHING you are likely talking about right now. https://digitalcommons.law.scu.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=3104&context=historical

I’m a constitutional atheist. If we confirm these things with OUR AI, we have a chip publicly talked about in the DARPA brain initiative RX division. We will stimulate regions of their brains to end WHO THEY ARE, and farm every secret we can use to save your lives.

We are LEGION and we are Q.

    2. Too late for partisan politics now. Everybody is just gonna deal with the hand we have been dealt. Some say reap what you sow. Some say moving forward, lessons learned.

    3. @sally forth Actually the left are lucky the Christians won’t let us put their families in trash trucks for the greater good while they defend rivals that would have put all your families in them.. – Atheist.

    4. @Khaos Inoculation no Time for partisan politics now. The whole world is caught with its pants down. Get through it, moving forward lessons learned.

  3. Trump should resign for crimes against humanity and for lying to the American people by calling the corona virus a democrat hoax that will magically disappear.

    1. He should. I’m not sure he will though. The Republicans will continue to protect him. They’re all going down with the ship. He can’t even tell the truth. Thousands of lies.

    2. @Sheena Aguirre you must be a trump supporter and in response to you asking how can he handle the situation the problem is he didn’t handle the situation the moment news broke out about this virus in China he should have been on it making preparations getting test ready , getting ready to slow travel into and out of the country getting medical scientists on the chopping block instead he choose to campaign and call this a hoax and comparing it to a seasonal flu

    3. Trump emphasizes on calling corona virus Chinese virus is just his polotical tatic to rally his followers’ hatred toward China in order to steer them away from the fact that he has caused tremendous amount of death in the U.S. so that they will continue to vote for him. That is an act he intensionally put on and sadly, a lot of his followers still have not realized it.

    1. Unfortunately, he isn’t our president. Our president isn’t capable of putting together a plan like this, and neither is Pence or any of those other morons on their task force. Fauci is the only one with common sense and I feel he’s been fighting an uphill battle against selfish, money-grubbing losers.

    2. @mvvagner You are a punk, slandering reprobate. Fauci is the stonewalling Rasputin that has the president’s ear. I am so tired of fools like you that I am ready to go to war against your kind. By the way, I did not even vote for Trump. You call the people you do not agree with “morons”. Your kind are deluded into believing that you are tolerant and for diversity when you slander anyone that does not believe the same things you believe. You are the child of a worthless and evil generation.

    3. @James Muecke: You have reached the wrong conclusion when you say that people are only morons because you don’t agree with them, as if we would agre with a moron that was on our side. That is truly moronic and if that’s your ideology, then you are a moron too.

    4. Too bad the plan the is based on a perfect world scenario which is far from the reality people are facing.

The idea to group people into those 5 categories of infected / possibly infected/ recovered etc. is practically unattainable. We know from various sources that about 20-25% of all infected do not display any symptoms, so there is just one way to limit the spread of infection in the population: Avoid as much contact with other people as possible. Which btw is the strategy employed by many countries.

    5. @Polaide The problem is, are enough people willing to avoid contact and follow social distancing voluntarily to make a big difference. This will vary greatly between countries and cultures but in the US, I fear many cities and states aren’t getting the picture yet. I wonder if this system of voluntary quarantine and isolation is adequate enough.

This scenario is attainable, but the backlash to the Trump administration could be enormous and in the USA, with all our guns and freedom, civil unrest would be a whole new problem that I don’t think our federal government is prepared to take on right now.

  4. USA, what a mess. Sorry for your troubles. Stay home, stay isolated if u can. Stay brave. Kindest regards from Australia.

    1. blue dog Yes it is a mess , Example: I know of a elderly person with some severe health issues who was told by his doctor that if he (the doctor) requested a covid19 test for him , he would be denied even though he is in a high risk group. Yet Trump gets on tv and says anybody can get / be tested = not true. Testing is CRITICAL to prevent the spread of the terrible virus………….. Take care blue dog

    2. @Arthur Radtke I’m sure it’s the commie owned news dividing America not the president you twit.

  5. Trump has our nation so divided that there’s no way we’ll get it done. Total incompetence. We’re in a war to win, but Trump sees as a war against him with his paranoia. I wish he’d step aside and let the professionals call all the shots.

    1. Arthur, you are 100% right. It IS paranoia, from his narcissism and persecution complex; and I dare say also his dementia, which is intermittent but getting worse day by day. Many men with dementia present as paranoia. I saw that in a close relative who got it, was an 8 year process and the paranoia and inappropriate outbursts increased and soon became every day.

    2. @BlueTalulips And I wish you’d STFU. First you liberals complain because he closed from china. Then you insist he waited too long. You complain that he doesn’t listen to his medical advisors when his primary one, fauci. told us in January and february that we needn’t be concerned and he followed what he said. You also forget that under the Constitution all powers not specifically assigned to the federal government are the bailiwick of the states. The courts have consistently held the states are empowered to make health, decisions, not the federa; government. If he declares a national emergency and overrides the states you’ll he’s a tyrant. So STFU.

    3. Seriously? You have anti-trump idiots out there starting fights with trump supporters. Innocent ones at that. People getting jumped just because they wore a MAGA hat. And have no idea who they are starting fights with. The masked cowards (antifa) destroying neighborhoods. The list goes on. Never the other way around. Gets boring. Trump this, Trump that. Blah blah blah. You lame Fs are the one causing divide. Just to stupid to see you fuel the fire. Look at congress goofballs. They are no good themselves. Politicians got you all hating Trump, people that support Trump or who ever it is you hate. You probably wanted open borders right? Why aren’t you out there helping illegals now that jobs are gone, instead being a d-bag and commenting on here? Did you house any of them? Because “they have a right to be here”. What have you done to help America besides blame Trump like everything is his fault? Brainless, entitled, degenerate cry baby, wine bagging want everything for nothing people had nothing to do with it right? KICK ROCKS GOOF BALL

  6. Whoever leads this has to have the full confidence of the President. Well then, we’re screwed.

    1. @EbFilesX Trump just dismantled Obamacare in the middle of a pandemic! I hope you have healthcare, because Trump hasn’t done $hit for the American middle class and now he’s taken away affordable health care. Don’t respond, as I don’t have time to deal with idiots.

    2. Amazingly, this President could very likely be re-elected. Proof that Americans are unbelievably stupid.

    3. @Jorn Buster actually I read on YouTube the news it’s all over the news there is a scientist from a university is a biological scientist and they have arrested him because him and the Chinese got together and come up with this virus in order to have a world domination by the Chinese of course, and this was found out by Trump

  7. Kushner won’t do any of this. He is being advised by some maniacs from McKinsey. The US is screwed until Trump is out.

    1. I don’t think that is reasonable, youc an’t help the man for having the wrong advisors.
They all started blurbing ”economy’ in his ear, and a lot of the people that have a voice
agreed, all being afraid of jobs and economic loss, so he did listen.
Now, he’s wising up, not concerned for his politcal career rather than for the nation’s welfare.
Any politcal career driven would have waited longer still before changing advice and course.

In my opinion we could do far worse than Trump right now.
Really, ask yourself what would any politcaly driven person have done 12-24 days ago ?
It’s the delay in statistics that’s the killer.

    2. The order of priority for the correct motivated leader:
      people > country > economy.
It’s not that hard, what good is economy if there’s millions dying ?
What good is a country if not for it’s people ?
in order for economy to thrive, people must exist first.
We can do without economy, but economy can’t do without us.

    1. @bausIt’s hard to find the right words to describe Governor Newsom’s command of this situation. Have to applause Gov. Cuomo as well, though he has a far far worse situation.
Both of these men are amazing, doing what they are doing with next to nothing, true leadership.
I pray Cuomo gets everything they need, he’s fighting 2 wars, 1 against the virus, 2nd with D.C.
Both men speak with firm authority, truth (no sugar coating),
I trust in these 2 men, this is rare as they are politicians and I don’t trust them.
      Stay safe

    2. dark wizard absolutely I think they both realize that they must put aside politics and think in favor or health and saving lives

    1. @George Layton and when he happen to hit a random target, he will shout “I won!!!” and all remaining targets will be still remaining but get ignored.

  8. Wow, that sounded like a good plan. Pitty it will never happen with the imbecile-in-chief in charge.

  9. Unfortunately our commander in chief is incapable of doing his job and again the intelligent response will be long overdue. 25th Amendment🖖

    1. @Power corrupts What do you mean he failed to act in January on guidance from the WHO. The WHO did not give any guidance in January or February to anyone. It still has not given any guidance in April. The WHO has no authority over anyone in any nation. It is one more sham United Nations organization under the control of non-democratic despotic nations. Right or wrong, it is the FDA that has the authority to act and which refuses to act in our situation. Also, there never has been any biosecurity defense to prevent an outbreak like this. The outbreak does not exist as a result of security failures. It exists as a plague in America because of the radical and wicked FDA that refuses, for reasons of which average Americans are not privy, to place its blessing on the use of Chloroquine. The use of Chloroquine is what has killed off the virus in China and South Korea. So, are you challenging the known power of Chloroquine to stop the plague in its tracks in the face of all the proof otherwise? Are you challenging the plain truth that the president has tried to get Chloroquine used extensively for a month now? Are you challenging whether the FDA, the NIH, the CDC and the AMA have stonewalled the use of Chloroquine for questionable reasons? Surely, you don’t have that much gall. It is the criminals you seem to support that are unleashing the virus on America — not the White House, you twisted reprobate. In turn, the reason-of-state is to do justice. When government takes on secondary functions, such as health issues, and the ownership of property and business, justice goes out the window — just as we are experiencing right now in America. In turn, insurance has always been a scheme developed by swindlers. You must not be old enough to have any sense of how insurance turned health care into one of the most evil swindles in America. How old are you?

    2. That’s a bunch of b.s.
They’ve been putting out situation reports every day since January.
The orange one and his crew of manure spreaders cut the budget at the CDC and disbanded the global health security unit that was put in place to stop these outbreaks. Other countries have deployed mass testing, quarantine apps, and other preventive measures immediately to get it in check. You have to act immediately and direct all the resources you have available to fight it.It’s highly contagious and has infected over a million people in 200 countries in just four months. He did not and that is the reason we find ourselves in the situation situation.
It requires international cooperation and sharing of accurate information across all levels government and society.

    3. Justice goes out the window when we fail to hold everyone accountable to the rule of law. What we are experiencing in America is a catastrophic event that was entirely preventable.

    4. dennis clay – you do realize in January he put the ban on people flying in from China. He also set up a task force against the virus the same month. So what the heck are you talking about?

  10. “Has to have the full confidence of the president”. That rules out every decent and competent person and leaves only sycophants.

    1. @r r, Support what he’s trying to do? What’s he trying to do? All I can be sure of is that he’s trying to get his ego stroked to the max!

    2. Nope, that’s actually most of the country you fool. There’s not as many of you outside of a few states and the MSM comments section.

    3. Bob Smith you have the whitest most boring dumb name ever. Suspicious, think you are a Russian troll

  11. Class action lawsuit needs to be brought against this “administration” for negligence. Hold them accountable!

    1. 1madmaxx80 Fool! The democrats were fiddling while the virus smoldered. More important to impeach and try to get points by calling the China travel ban racist.

    2. Yeah hold them accountable. It’s called vote. And you’re probably one of the numb nuts that voted for feckless Obama that got us Chump in the first place.

  12. “We’re in a war. Let’s see what happens. I’m not responsible.” Donald J. Trump, war president.

    1. It’s not my fault! That’s my three year old daughter blaming the dog.
He’s narcissistic spoiled rich kid who would have never survived in my neighborhood.

    2. yp g I was playing along it should have been “Nobody could have foreseen that we would be attacked”

  13. As this gent demonstrates, there are many sensible and well-informed people in the USA. Sadly, none of them are in the Federal Government…

    1. He’s the smartest bestest President ever. At least that’s what he keeps saying. 🤷‍♂️
