This week, more than 100 Republicans, including some former elected officials, signed a letter threatening to form a new political party if the GOP continues to embrace Donald Trump. Former Trump Homeland Security official Miles Taylor, who is spearheading the movement known as The Republican Political Alliance for Integrity and Reform, spoke to NBC’s Joshua Johnson about the organization's goal.

As someone who has voted for some republicans in the past but now considers himself democrat in 2021, I support this movement.
Myles Taylor is a smart credible man. But reform and buzzwords mean very little. Show us your policy platform and specific details about how you will accomplish that. How are you going to be fiscally conservative …. what is your plan for spending, taxes, etc. How are you gong to deal with immigration …. details on numbers, rules, all the complex issues of it. How are you going to deal with gun control …. details, actual restrictions if any. Buzzwords and platitudes are not gonna do it. Until they come up with a comprehensive and detailed policy and plan, they won’t get much serious consideration. Sounds like a good idea, but the devil is in the details.

I really liked his answer about giving the “battered” GOP members abused by Trump some cover and breathing room so they’ll be less hesitant to stand up to him. What terrifies me most are the bills being passed by the GOP based on bold face lies.

Taking the politics out of this for two seconds, it was refreshing to see two guys talk in public about psychologically abusive relationships. In my country, I don’t think that two men would speak like that on live TV and that’s a problem – a lot of people experience it and talking about it really takes away the stigma and taboo.
You are absolutely right! Most of us wear the scars of abusive crazy people! Many moved on many couldn’t, wouldn’t. One of my friends was married to a psychopath (teally)for 27 years. We tried for years to help her get out. Finally she called the police on his abuse. In three years she married a wonderful oral surgeon & everything in life has changed for the better! She’s so happy & continually thanks me for helping her see the light!
