  1. All it takes to stop a bad guy with a gun, is apparently a good guy in a tank because our heavily armed cops are too cowardly to do anything except “set a perimeter “

  2. Kinda of blows away the “good guy with a gun” mantra. If the cops won’t do their jobs, why should we expect underpaid and under appreciated teachers to do it for them?

    1. @jabbu Yes you have the right to own a fire arm and protect yourself from a list of criminals not just mass shooters. Or you can be a sitting duck and “hope” that nothing happens to you. However, me and my fellow residents are armed, and guess what?? In my city the burglary rate is at a minimum, sexual assault is at a record low, and we haven’t had a single mass shooting in the last 25 years.

    2. @Vanilla Hudson Criminals shouldn’t be in schools with guns. That is where this conversation started. Teachers in schools shouldn’t be responsible for stopping armed intruders. As far as my house that is a different story.

    1. Yes… partly because of the Police Union. Which is funny, given how the right wing rails against Unions, but go eerily quiet when asked about police unions.

    2. Does anyone else see a correlation between cops and government officials taking a paycheck but now doing their job.

    3. @Kj Herrera Not sure really, but I think the higher up one goes, the cosier it gets with several layers of minions to take the flack.
Firemen do their job and ambulance people .

  3. The only thing that can stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun, and body armor, and a ballistic shield, and military training, and a willingness to uphold his oath of duty to the people he serves. Throw in another 19 well armed good guys for moral support too.

    1. Thats because in everyones mind they are a hero that would act swiftly to end the threat (the reality is they would hide and cower because thats what cowards do but they believe in their minds they have the confidence and fearlessness to run head on into the danger…… its like when guys talk about what they would do if someone said something to them rude… all bark.)

    2. @Peter Kent Here’s the thing….most people have not been trained to deal with this sort of situation, lack the right equipment to subdue a shooter at minimum risk to themselves and hostages, and did not take an oath to defend the innocent. When it’s your literal job to do that.

    1. How many deceased kids have we the public seen? 00000 I don’t believe anything until it’s proven….

    2. @bill blow No it wasn’t Hispanics are called brown but they have white skin it’s not the same

  4. If police aren’t there to risk their lives for our children, what on earth do we pay them for?? The parents were ready to handle it themselves WITHOUT guns, and you’re telling me cops with military gear are too afraid? Make it make sense.

    1. We pay them to uphold the status quo and protect the rich.
The supreme court has ruled on three separate occasions that the police have no obligation to protect you.

  5. Not only did they take so long go in and poorly inform the people the governor Abbott and mayor of Uvalde and police department won’t release on police cam footage to us. My little girl goes to school in Uvalde I want answer!!!

  6. The deaths Of those children are without a doubt on those cops hands. If You’re not willing to lay your life on the line as a cop, when that is your duty! Don’t be a police officer. This is not just a paycheck that is your job as law-enforcement to protect the public.

    1. @Jung-Hsien Chen what happened with “All it takes is a good guy with a gun” BULLSHIT tucker

  7. The police are now blaming it on a breakdown in command and communication and lack of protection. I blame all of them because it’s protocol to just go in and take out the gunman.

    1. @Craig Colson Absolutely not. They need to never work in this or any profession like this again.

    2. It goes beyond failing miserably, the timeline in 1:33 raises many questions of why they were idle or what they were waiting for and why they didn’t react every time the situation changed or worsened.
From the second shots fired at 11.44 to the time where the first officer with a ballistic shield appears at 11.52 then the second one at 12.03 and third one two minutes later, then despite having heard shots twice 4 minutes apart, and having people equiped to deal with it, they still waited another 16 minutes and at 12.21 there were even more shots, you would again expect them to rush in at that moment, but they waited another 15 minutes until 12.46 to give the order to breach.
Why so much indecision? this isn’t “failing miserably”, this is just ludicrous.

    1. If those parents didnt have kids in there they wouldnt have gotten in there, even some police who had kids in there went in there

  8. So sad. My heart and prayers go out to those poor parents. Dear God I can only imagine what they go through still

  9. It makes me livid. Lives could’ve been saved!!! In a situation where minutes count they wait 45 mins to breach!!! They train for this!!!!!! Vigorously I’ll add.

  10. The protocol with an active shooter is simple: you must engage the shooter with whatever you have. No order needed. If you just have a hand gun you go in. By engaging the shooter prevents the shooter from shooting people.

Another failure is that the police should have engaged the shooter through the windows. 2 cops on either side of the windows should have started firing at the shooter. The shooter can not shoot at both of them at the same time.

Everything I’ve heard tells me that there was a complete failure by the Uvalde police from the top down. They need to be fired.

  11. The Chief should humbly bow down and call it a day . How in world could they have NOT know if there were children in there . It’s a primary school for goodness sake . Hold them all ACCOUNTABLE!!!

    1. I hear shots fired. He must be shooting at space, BS. Bunch of cowards, every last one of them. Bet had it been their child, they would’ve disregard commands directive

  12. Those cops knew damn well they were obligated to engage, they were just too scared. Not as scared as the children locked in a room full of their slaughtered classmates with a murderer, but still too scared to do their jobs.

    1. Your right when 4or. 6 have someone out of car they real tuff when it comes down to being a brave man an taking care of children. See how well they perform. I d is like all police fro this very reason when 4 were beating me down because they asked were I got NY myoney I said non e of your busnessis. I was violently shoved to the ground. While being :hand cuffed behind back. Lowlife with badges

    2. Sadly, not true.
The supreme court has ruled on three separate occasions that the police have no obligation to protect anyone.

    3. @topbreak38 sad but true, they made a commitment to protect their community though and they know that. They were still obligated in every way that actually matters.

    4. @Victor Gutierrez nope. The only way that matters is legally. They will not face any consequences as the law and “good ol’ boy” system will protect them.

  13. 1 hour, 14 minutes and 8 seconds before Law enforcement even tried the classroom door that was unlocked the whole time.
