The nickname Lilibet came about because Princess Margaret couldn’t pronounce Elizabeth as a little girl, and the name stuck throughout her childhood.

I’ll bet a lot of people have nicknames for the same reason, I know my mother did because of her sister’s mis-pronounciation of her name also.
