Problem Solvers Caucus Members Talk January 6 Commission | MSNBC

Members of the bipartisan House Problem Solvers Caucus, Reps. Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ) and Fred Upton (R-MI), joined Stephanie Ruhle to discuss Wednesday's vote to pass a bill creating a commission to investigate the Jan. 6 Capitol attack. Upton — one of only 35 Republicans to back the legislation — explains his decision, and Gottheimer says "it's not a partisan issue."

  1. Every single member of Congress who voted against this should be removed from office for high treason.
There is literally nothing more unAmerican than refusing to investigate an insurrection/failed coup upon our very democracy…except carrying out one.

    1. @PJ Celeste yea it’s called an OUTSIDE investigation and a Bipartisan group…..
They wouldn’t be politicians moron….nor anyone working in the administration….
I can clearly see you know squat all about what words mean & how this works…..

    2. That`s so true every single democrat and Republican who is against a audit of the 2020 election will be removed and put in a federal penitentiary for high treason

    3. @Gunner When there is CONCRETE EVIDENCE I’m sure they will! In 2016 election we knew and had evidence that Russia meddled in the elections and all we heard was a bunch of BS Denials!!!!

  2. Bipartisan? Every American should be demanding the truth about Jan 6th, 21….period.

    1. I HATE and have NO respect for anyone who is still a “Republican.” You’re all FASCISTS.

    2. @Censorship Is real
Go reread my comment dufus. I said provide a link to back that BS up.

    3. @David L Alexander you deny the riots of 2020 even happened.
      When every network covered them.
      So it’s pointless.

  3. Republicans/conservatives can’t handle the truth. It doesn’t make them look good or fit their narrative.

    1. @Dog Poo Fairy If Republicans had a set of standards they could defend we would not be in the mess we are in.

    2. @Friend but do you think Democrats should be held accountable by the same set of standards? Their actions have been far worse than the Republicans, such as enabling and encouraging violence and destruction for the past year.

    1. @KATHY MC allister How about you worry about your FASCISTS country with your….1 DAY ACCOUNT!

    2. Everyone who incites hostility against a group of people should be held accountable but unfortunately Maxine Waters appears to be exempt.

    3. Democrats are wet the pants scared of Trump, his power still rules half the nation & gaining more ground as Biden ruins any chance of Democrats keeping the house in 2022

  4. 175 Republicans in the house voted against this bipartisan bill. A bill where Republicans got everything that they asked for that doesn’t seem suspicious at all LOL

    1. I wonder how many Democrats would vote for the impeachment of Maxine Waters, who should actually be arrested and charged. The Republicans are weak for not calling for action against this despicable woman.

  5. January 6, 2021….” a day which will live in infamy” to quote FDR in his speech about the attack on Pearl Harbor. Americans must never let the GOP forget, or sweep under the rug, their instigation of, and complicity in, this attack on American democracy and the peaceful transfer of power!!

    1. Democrats have now won the popular vote in seven of the last eight elections, something no party has done before in U.S. history. This is also their fourth consecutive popular-vote victory; the last time that happened was the party’s run from 1932 through 1948.

The US has made it clear they are rejecting the GOP, the most criminally corrupt party to hold the office of the presidency.

    2. To believe one political party is more, or less, corrupt than another is self-delusional. To believe the entire truth that all those who were/are complicit in this event will be revealed is also self-delusional.

    3. @John Browneyes Good point! However, with the antiquated electoral college system, the imbalance in the way that states (i.e. land not people ) are represented in the Senate (the actual power centre in America’s government) and the gerrymandering in states for seats in the House, winning the popular vote does not translate to being the party in power, especially enough power to get anything meaningful done.

  6. How out of touch do you have to be to think that reaching an agreement “in the next couple of months” is “close” to a compromise? If the average person told that their boss they’d be fired.

  7. If the Senate refuses to participate, then the House should go ahead with the investigation under the auspices of a “House Select” committee, offering positions to Republicans and hiring independent investigators to collect and publish evidence in the next 12 months, (prior to the next election). Just do it.

    1. The investigation will move forward. Mitch McConnell has already said that he’s against the Commission Bill.

    2. Oh, you can bet your LAST dollar the Democrats will have their commission because it’s what OVER 84 million voters want ACCOUNTABILITY.

  8. At least there are some GOP congressmen that are reasonable and logical.

Let’s just stop playing politics and let’s help the people that needs help. Not everything is political.

  9. I don’t think these people say “At the end of the day” enough. They need to end every sentence with that phrase.

  10. I didn’t know we let criminals dictate what the prosecution can investigate.
    How ridiculous.

  11. I don’t think their definition of the word “solve” has the meaning they think it does…

  12. It’s becoming stranger by the day listening to Congressmen speaking rationally??? No one is buying what McConneLl and McCarthy are selling!

  13. We need a Special Council.
Insert prosecutors name, is appointed to serve as Special Council for the United States Department of Justice to investigate the January 6, 2021 insurrection. .

  14. the chickens in the yard guarding their own seeds while leaving the whole yard open for attack … the new GQP
