Rachel Maddow’s New Book, ‘Bag Man,’ And The Downfall Of Spiro Agnew | The Last Word | MSNBC

Overshadowed by the Watergate scandal, the resignation of Nixon V.P. Spiro Agnew in 1973 over corruption and tax evasion is almost forgotten history. Rachel Maddow revisits Agnew’s story – and explains how the lessons are still relevant today. “So much of the legal framework by which Trump’s alleged crimes had to be considered by the Special Counsel and by this Justice Department, all that groundwork was laid by this forgotten story of Agnew taking bags of cash at his White House office.” Aired on 12/8/2020.

  2. Trump has two parts of a brain ‘left and right’

In the Left there’s nothing right

Drop a Sub *IT MAKES THE MAGA CHUDS CRY* 😿

  3. BREAKING NEWS: Trumps’ Latest Twitter Post:
“I’d like to thank Judges Gorsuch, Kavanaugh and ACB for their brief service, but they have all been terminated, effective immediately. The only option left is The Military Option. Are you with me? Snowflakes for “Freedom” Rise Up; Stand by and Stay Ready! Boycott GA Runoff!”

  4. Thanks for bringing up the Southern Strategy started by Barry Goldwater in 1964 when he voted against the Civil Rights Act of that year. So many Trump supporters refuse to acknowledge this part of Republican Party history. Strom Thurmond, a racist Democrat, left the Democrats to join the Republicans with open arms during this time. I think George Wallace would’ve also joined the Republicans if it wasn’t for his loyalty to southern Democrats who refused to join the party of Lincoln. He failed to defeat Carter in the ’76 primaries.

    1. And remember Goldwater was Jewish too and the founder of far right racism in the Republican party. And furthermore, that Goldwater forgot that the Klan, Neo Nazis hate Jews with a Passion!

  5. So that’s where Trump and his enablers got the cash for Pardons scheme idea. The so called party of Law and Order 🙄

  6. I knew that Nixon was a crook. I knew Agnew was also a crook. I knew that Nixon was racist. I never knew that Agnew was also racist. Learn something new every day.

    1. Pretty much all you need to know is that ALL Republicans are greedy criminals and bigots of one stripe or another

  7. I don’t remember what Spirochete Agony (which is what I always called him) was accused of, but the one thing I have NEVER forgotten was that he called us opponents of the Vietnam War “a bunch of effete snobs calling themselves intellectuals.”
