Rep. Porter On GOP Calls For Narrow Infrastructure Plan

Rep. Katie Porter (D-CA) tells Stephanie Ruhle that she won't back a narrow infrastructure package only focused on roads and bridges rather than a broader bill with funding for childcare. "Our economy is not going to fully bounce back from Covid-19, is not going to be on a path to be globally competitive going forward unless we address some of the other issues that workers face."

    1. @jstreets1983 then why keep responding πŸ€”
In your 1st comment to me, you ended it with: “I don’t have any questions for you sooo bye”. We’re not worth your time but you delete previous comments and continue to respond. Are you a GOP Politician? 🀨 All this flip-flopping is similar, very sad.
All I did was ask you to explain, which was a weak response, so deal with it or go away.

    2. @iluvdissheet I respond to almost everyone that contacts me. Its just an habit I do but you can think it’s about you if you want to feel like a special snowflake.

I didn’t delete anything. YT did and you aren’t worth asking any questions. I don’t waste my time on the useless.

    3. @jstreets1983 ok, then don’t say bye or pretend your above responding.

I didn’t ask you for a question, I originally asked you to explain your position. Do you not understand the comment section?

    4. @jstreets1983 Let’s get back on track: your position is Katie should be doing more with her position. That’s fine, but you said to speak out against Cuomo which is illogical.

There is a reason we have state governments and 1 federal government. Our Constitution is clear about the difference between states’ rights and the federal government.
For example, when Reps AOC, Garcia and Jackson Lee decided to raise money to aid Texans with their power issue, they didn’t try to oust Texas Governor Abbott. They went to help AMERICANS who happen to live in TX. AOC worked with her democratic colleagues to help people, while the Texas Republican Reps did nothing, Cruz went to Cancun and Cornyn was silent.

Now when talking about Cuomo, both NY Senators, AOC and many from the NYS delegate spoke publicly about Cuomo’s resignation. That is how its SUPPOSED to work. Let the state handle it. Other state senators/reps can have their opinion but you as a voter should NOT expect your rep to be concerned with other states’ issues. It’s illogical and a waste of resources.

So before you go on again blaming dems for everything, take a look at the Republicans during a crisis and how they handle it, “green”. Because you have alot of blame with no solutions, which makes you sound “Republican/conservative”.

    5. @jstreets1983 btw, “snowflake” isn’t even the correct word for someone like me. It actually better classifies you. Look up the lingo before you use it stupidly.

  1. The Church of Baby Cheesus wants a narrow infrastructure plan but a broad commission so they can whine about Antifa and BLM instead of facing the truth that they and their base committed insurrection.

    1. Blasphemy baiting is pitiful. Apparently you’ve not seen Warnuse’s “Seditious Conspiracy” yet. Wake up!

    2. @softtailtc88 I didn’t say Jesus, I said Baby Cheesus.

Jesus died for the sins of others.

Others died for the sins of Baby Cheesus.

  2. Companies step up. Invest in these workers, they are the one who are making you money in the first place. – Katie Porter

    1. It’s a global, fossil-fueled fiasco, built with stuff from the age of the dinosaur. Does any elected representative know how this works out when public finds there was never a plan?

    2. @Fara Roberts Imagine the government being full of smart, sensible people working for the good of the country.

    3. @Kevin Turner workers are the consumers. Do you think there some magic people out there who are independently wealthy doing the buying?

    4. Exactly. Instead, they used the incentives from the Trump administration meant to stimulate the economy to do stock buybacks and give pay raises to upper management, instead of their workers.

  3. It’s unbelievable how someone like Katie Porter who is intelligent, articulate works in the same congress as Marjorie Taylor Greene

    1. @softtailtc88 MTG acts like a scoundrel like she should be running a Banana Republic we’re all supposed to be scared of her but a joke that woman has no class I’m not going to call her a lady

    2. unfortunately politics generally doesn’t draw the smartest people, because its by nature a fools trade, and one doesn’t typically run for office to humbly help people

  4. Porter is articulate, intelligent, caring and selfless.
Too many Republican politicians are insulting the intelligence of most Americans, are greedy and selfish.

    Sic ’em Porter!!! πŸ’—

    1. Right on. As someone who loves America almost as much as his own country the American people deserve better than the crumbs the Rethuglicans are willing to throw them. Of course the GOP’s masters don’t want to see America recover after all they suffered over the last four years thanks to Comrade trump and Moscow Mitch.

    2. @Nuclear Christian
      Thank you!
The rest of the world helped celebrate when Biden won by singing, dancing, turning on lights of the USA colors and ringing church bells throughout lands.
I’ve traveled, lived and worked overseas. One time in a country ran by a dictator so I saw *all* the signs in the last administration. They must be held accountable.
Wherever you are, I and most of my fellow Americans appreciate and value the support of people from other countries! πŸ’—
      Blessings

    3. @Selah As you say up here in Canada we were so happy to see Biden win. And not only because he and our Prime Minister have a good past together (Trudeau and Biden know each other from the days of Obama). Blessings to you, too.

  5. Katie always has a hundred facts ready for the next question and the ability to put them together in a coherent fashion.

    1. I love her, not only for all her hard work, (and most of us could not comprehend how hard she works), but she is inspirational.

    1. You mean like what EVERY politician SHOULD be doing ALL THE TIME…πŸ›‘πŸ€¬πŸ‚πŸ’©πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

    2. She is awesome! She is very knowledgeable about these issues. Guess who her college professor was?

    1. For me, Katie Porter ranks among this country’s political best, such as Barbara Jordan and Shirley Chisholm, who were extremely knowledgeable, wise, fierce, fearless, and compassionate. Above all, they were public servants and true American patriots.

  6. I’ve been a trucker for 33 years and I can tell you that, “America Needs Infrastructure Spending!”

    1. This. We built the majority of the interstate highway system 50+ years ago. The rail network is even older. The telecom network is newer, mostly, but needs maintenance and upgrading badly. Much of the nation once had commuter bus services no longer has such and badly needs such again simply to reduce road congestion and pollution.

    2. @Alexander Brown Every time we say the word fear, another GOP Republican gets it hornsπŸ€ͺπŸ€πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

    3. @Ken Shaw dont forget many southern states have sewage issues due to lack of infestructure upkeep.

  7. Katie Porter cares about people in their communities, not the type that’s just there for the money, fame, status or ego.

    1. She is skipping the part about the government printing snd releasing more paper into the economy then the paper has less buying power snd everything will go up in price. It’s called inflation and it’s happening already.

    2. @Kevin Turner well I’m sure you can just hop in an RV and find a better more economical place to live

  8. Representative Porter is awesome! I hope she runs for a higher office someday so I can vote for her.

  9. Rep. Porter is going to make Whiteboard a verb. “Sir, do you want me to whiteboard you? Or do you want to tell the truth?” HAHA

    1. And its more effective and peaceful then waterboarding too… Remember that phase in US politics?😱

    2. @Kris M Conservatives want to waterboard folks, Porter whiteboards them!

      πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

  10. I love Porter. A no nonsense in your face, smart woman. She is something to watch in congressional hearings. πŸ‘πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘πŸ˜Š

  11. It should be renamed. You go, Katie! Thank you for having a heart, common sense, and intellect.

  12. I love Katie Porter interviews, she actually answers the questions. No BS, no hemming and hawing.
