The virus is still there and it is very real. I understand why the protesters take the risk. This is worth dying for. If we don’t defend Democracy, there will be no Democracy when the vaccine is discovered. Trump will be a dictator who decides who gets the vaccine. Protesting in the streets doesn’t mean you think that COVID is gone. It means you value freedom maybe even more than your life. That’s what patriotism is.
Probably badly but I hope that it’s ability to spread outdoors was overestimated. If half of the effort had been put in to stopping the virus as is being put in to shutting people up the deaths would be far lower. However one political side kept saying the efforts weren’t worth the economic damage but I don’t see the same voices asking how much this wild show of force is costing.
So… I guess you’re going for herd immunity after all.
