Sec. Buttigieg: We Also Need To Move Forward On ‘Human Infrastructure’ Track

After a Senate vote, President Biden is now on track to deliver a major infrastructure overhaul for the country just months after his inauguration. But the 'human infrastructure' track will be done through the budget reconciliation process, which allows Democrats to avoid the 60 vote filibuster. Transportation Sec. Pete Buttigieg joins Joy Reid to discuss how to get both aspects of the infrastructure plan to his desk.

  1. Just what we need to kickstart the economy.

Now, how about the bill the republicans DON’T want? You know, the other three quarters of the deal?

  2. Congratulations Secretary Buttigieg.
It’s true – eryone has something to complain about & something to celebrate with this bill – that’s compromise. That’s how it’s *supposed* to work. And then we keep fighting for what we didn’t get this time around….
But this is an *INCREDIBLE* *MOMENT* for the entire republic.
    Well done.
My grandkids’ grandkids will benefit from today. Thank you.

  3. Absent an aggressive appropriation to address global warming this legislation will only deepen our love affair with carbon emissions. Electric vehicles are essentially meaningless unless the source of the electricity is addressed. Charging electric cars via coal-fired power plants, for example, is a real facepalm.

  4. The people contribute the lions share to the budget and so by all rights the loins share should be spent on them not corporations, military or political parties. Investing in our people is the best, and most worthwhile investment that we can ever make.

“Maddow’s show is different than a typical news segment where anchors inform viewers about the daily news,” an Obama-appointed judge ruled.”

  5. Pete, please don’t say: “At a level we’ve never seen before”. Just got some horrible flashbacks from 2017-2020.

  6. Sinema and Manchin doe not represent Democrats, Republicans, or Independents. They only represent Exxon Mobile.

  7. That’s an amazing list of positives for America 🇺🇸🙌🇺🇸 Great agreement leader’s ✅ in both parties ✅
Hopefully Biden will have All leader’s together when signing off on the Bill as a symbol of America’s leader’s together ✅ for America 🇺🇸
    This is amazing ✅
Major positive turning point for America 🇺🇸
    *America’s leader’s are making history* ✅

  8. Nothing to address homeless, so many with no healthcare dying, student loan interest, nothing to address real issues.
