The protesters dared the Mayor to join them in a peaceful protest. It was peaceful but they were pepper-sprayed anyway.

Frank Winkhorst unfortunately so many polio patients are now getting post polio syndrome. It comes back to bite you as you age. My Doctor had to retire bea of post polio syndrome. Scary thing is no one knows what may happen in the future to people that “recover” from COVID-19.
Let’s hope everyone grows up and start wearing masks before the fall.

@D If you really believe this is BS, then if you ever need surgery, you better ask the surgeon and the nurses to not wear masks during this surgery. You do not want your surgeon not getting enough oxygen.
Operators in the clean room of sterile manufacturing wear masks during their work in the clean room, construction workers wear if needed dust masks to protect their lungs; asbestos workers are wearing masks; cowboys used to cover their faces with a scarf to protect theit lungs for dust; Travellers in the dessert wear masks or a scarf to protect their lungs from sand, if it is freezing outside people tend to cover their face with a scarf to prevent freezing. None of these people ever ran into trouble because of lack of oxygen.
A mask can feel uncomfortabel (warm, itchy, maybe you smell your breath if yoy ate garlic) because you are not used to cover your face. However, that is only for a short time.
@Ray L Great that busenesses do take their responsibility. Kind of sad that so many politicians are not doing the same in an effort to protect citizens. Trevor Noah has a great video on the subject where he compares the response to the spanish flue pandemic with this pandemic in the USA. The same mistakes are made in the USA. Kwarkol I hate to say it, but it will get worse in the fall, when seasonal flu hits. There’s a segment of the population that refuses to get the flu shot and that combined with Covid 19 will increase deaths. In Canada doctors are already predicting an increase of deaths in the fall when another wave hits and more people are inside in crowded environments. We will probably go back into lock down.

Sure we’re making America great, sure we are. Texans are suffering terribly and where is our president? Praising himself day after day. Having been an RN in critical care for 30 plus years in America, I’ve never seen anything like this. Prior to Covid-19; weeks to months on ventilators were unheard of other than teaching hospitals, and even there were rare. When organs start to fail while their on ventilators for months, I see this as a nightmare scenario. Health plans and MCR must be reeling from the bills. They must be calling Trump begging him to relieve them of the burden of Covid 19 bills for in some cases over 100 day stays. Is this why Trump is still trying to take away Medicaid and Obamacare in the midst of a pandemic. Well we know where his interest lies and it’s not in any way good for the country. It’s all about profits and power.
