Countries may have different interests, and the main reason for the US invasion of Iraq was not oil production (As you mentioned earlier.), but the change in Iraq’s policy to pro-Western and “secure” itself from Adam Hussein, i.e. this, in fact, can also be considered a benefit.
Please don’t try to argue with the obvious. All states and non-states act ONLY in their own interests.

The oil deposits discovered in Ukraine in Crimea and the Donbas (Donetsk and Luhansk) region could put a direct competition to Russia’s petro industry. It is also one of the reasons Russia is invading Ukraine as it poses a threat to their earnings once Ukraine develops its oil/gas industry.
