I am unemployed and I receive AUD 1390 per fortnight. This payment started in April will finsh in September. We also have Jobkeeper payments for those lost thier jobs.Before the virus I was receiving $765 each fortnight. the government pumped over 500 billion into our economy , which is probably small change to you guys, from unemployed, disabled to businesses, arts and entertainment, free child care for 6 months, hospital got a huge injection of cash,mental health receive over 50 million, farmers, transport etc you name it they got cash. Before this virus Australia had an economy that grew for 28 years . Only the Netherlands could match ours.During the GFC in 2008 when your markets crash our survived .Back then the Labor government gave out $1200 to workers and unemployed reviewed $900. This was a one off payment.

I don’t protest, although I believe there needs to be reform, and I would never riot. I wear a mask because I really understand its benefit to me and to others and I actually care. I am not ignorant and certainly not dumb. I vote democrat as their policies are more in line with my beliefs, and there are lots of people like me. As for Trump — I won’t even begin. I have faith that our (already) great country has a constitution and government that will weather this storm (Trump, Covid-19, etc) and others to come.
